لست أنبيك بافتِقادِي لأني

شاغل مهجتي بخلقٍ سِواكا

I do not complain to you of my longing, for I

Occupy my mind with creations other than you.

لا ولا أنني أُفَرّغ قلبي

ساعةً يا نِزار مِن ذِكراكا

No, and nor do I empty my heart for an hour,

O Nizar, of the mention of you.

غير أَني إذا تَهَيّمني الشو

قُ طلبت الشفاءَ في رؤياكا

Except that when melancholy preoccupies me,

I seek healing in seeing you in my dreams.

لا أراني الإله غَيْرَك مَوْلىً

لا ولا اجتاحني بوشكِ نواكا

I do not see other than you as my master,

Nor does your love's tumult overwhelm me.

أنا لو رُمت شكرَ بعضِ أيادِي

ك لأَعْيا عَلَيّ إدراك ذاكا

If I attempted to give thanks for some of your kind acts,

I would be too weary to grasp even that.
