1. يا يوم أسعفنا بكل سرور

    طِيباً فِنلنا منه كل حبور

    O blessed day, bring us your joy

    And let us drink deep of your pure wine

  2. ظِلْنا نُسَقَّي جوهراً من قهوة

    قد عُتِّقت في جوهر البَلُّور

    We were given coffee, essence distilled

    Freed from crystals, a treasure to find

  3. في جنَّة قد ذُللّت ثمراتُها

    وتسربلتْ بغَلائلٍ من نورِ

    In a garden where fruits hang so free

    Draped in gowns of shimmering light

  4. وجرى النسيمُ على ثمارِ غُصونها

    فتضوعّتْ بالمسك والكافور

    Where the breeze through the boughs softly blows

    Scents of musk and camphor alight

  5. ينساب في الأكناف منها جدولٌ

    كالنَّصْل أو كالحيّة المذعور

    A stream trickles on through its midst

    Like a blade or a frightened snake

  6. ما بين أُترجّ يلوح كأنه

    كبرى الثُّدِيّ الصّفِر فوق صدور

    Midst orange trees swaying like the swell

    Of a golden breast above bodice awake

  7. وكأنّ نَرْجِسَه إذا استقبلتَه

    يرنو بأجفانِ العيون الحُور

    And the narcissi, when looked upon

    Beckon with eyes of houris aglow

  8. وكأنّما النارَنْج في أغصانه

    أُكَرٌ تَرَوَّتْ من دم اليَعْفُور

    The pomegranates on branches appear

    As rubies wet with blood of the doe

  9. وكأنما نَشَر الربيعُ مَلاحِفاً

    فيها مُرَيَّشَة من المنثور

    As if spring has laid out her quilt

    Embroidered with seeds strewn and sown

  10. وكأنّ سَوْسَنَها خدودٌ قد بدت

    للَّثم فيها زُرْقَةُ التأثِير

    And its lilies reveal blushing cheeks

    For kisses, blue traceries shown

  11. ويَزيدها حسناً على تَحْسينها

    مُلْك العزيز لها أبي المنصور

    More beautiful still for the care

    Of our lord, most generous he

  12. مَلِكٌ تزيد طباعُه كَرماً على

    خُلُق المُعز وشيمة المنصور

    A king whose nature outshines

    The virtue of lions, nobility

  13. أنا عبدك المخلوقُ منك وإنني

    لجِميلِ ما أوليتَ أَلفُ شَكور

    I'm your servant, by you made and formed

    For your grace, thanks beyond measure!
