O lamp of mankind, wing of darkness
And vanquisher of enemies on the day of battle
And the one too exalted to be compared to a sun
Or the full moon at its fullest
And the one whose generosity and gifts encompass
All people with abundant bestowal
And the one hoped for, for religion and world
Purified of every flaw and blemish
And whose view, when pens wander
And minds tire, is firmer than an anvil
And whose attack, when he charges in battle
Against enemies, is like a hungry wolf's
This day, as you take medicine
Is a day of the best days
In moderate weather and pleasant
Time, clear as clarified wine
At a time when roses blossom in it
With efflorescence of its light and smile
So it is free of heat and chill
And empty of gathering clouds
If you take medicine on two feet
You would be to the dying their life
Live long, safe from time, mature wine
That flows in the vat like a dove
