The fountain is a melodious moan of passion
When it complained of heat and its torment
Its moan is the murmur of its circulation
And its tears are the water of its conduits
As if the spout in its well
Were the passion of kings in their pleasures
It splashes water onto a garden
As if it were the feathers of its peacocks
As if the cypress trees in it were women
Who rose to strike its bells
And the jasmine around it is thought to be
Hands that gestured with their rings
The narcissus opened from eyes
Yellowed by its kisses
And anemones like the cheeks of desire
Parted after its compression
And lilies like disks when they appeared
Their traces in the softness of its touch
The raindrops aroused it with their calls
When the clouds scattered them from their purse
Its lights play with sights
Like wishes playing with their keys
So rejoice in its basil and relax
To the breeze in its familiar basin
And this one hides from the senses what
Came with the delicacy of its sensation
As if the cupbearer when he stirred it
Struck the flash of lightning from its goblet
