The crescent looked upon your luminous brow
And saw the crescent of illumination and gnosis
And acknowledged that there are three moons
The face of the prince, and after it the two moons

Alas! Where are they and the cub of al-Murtada
The son of the virgin, the generous one of Adnan

The knight invader, son of the reviver of the religion
Abd al-Qadir al-Hasani, cave of the distressed

Effacer of misguidance with guidance, effacer of transgression
With a meteoric spear or a Yemeni crescent
O king crowned before the crowns of bloom
With praise of the Merciful, and garlanded with feats of arms

On a day of woe and by benefaction on a day of assurance
And fresh, pure, flowery, the bouquet of munificence and charity

You are but the first of feasts for the world
And feast of Breaking the Fast a second feast
So surrender to it and to every feast thereafter
And to every caller to protect and aid you
For your praise encompasses every land that knows it
And your voice has not receded from any man
You remain surrounded by the reward of fasting, protected
By the safekeeping of reciting the Criterion
Blessings rain upon you from it,
A visit continuous to the ends of times
