1. زهت زهو الغزالة في خباها

    فدل على مضاربها سناها

    The beauty of the doe gleamed in her hiding place,

    Her antlers pointing to her shelter.

  2. وداراها اللثام عن الغواني

    فكان دليلهن لها شذاها

    The veil concealed her from strangers,

    Her fragrance betrayed where she was.

  3. مهاةٌ لو تزوجت الثريا

    ببدر التم ما ولدت أخاها

    A goddess - had she married Pleiades,

    It would not have borne her equal.

  4. تغار مدامعي مني عليها

    فتمنع ناظري من أن يراها

    My tears are jealous of her,

    Blocking my eyes from seeing her.

  5. ويمسك ساعدي عنها عفافي

    فلو زارت بلا واقٍ وقاها

    Modesty restrains me from her,

    Else I'd visit her in her bower.

  6. بروحي من مراشفها رياضاً

    ترى العينان فيها مشتهاها

    My soul perceives gardens in her pavilions -

    Eyes feast on longed-for sights there.

  7. بها عين تسمى سلسبيلاً

    ولكن ليس يرشفها سواها

    She has an eye called "Cascade"

    Quenched only by her sweet rain.

  8. تبارك من حباها الورد خدّاً

    وكلَّل بالأقاح الرطب فاها

    Blessed is He who gave her rose cheeks

    And crowned her mouth with lush fruits,

  9. وأعطاها نضار الفرع تاجاً

    وأبداها لآل الحسن شاها

    Gave her the fresh bough’s bloom as crown

    And showed her beauty's full glory!

  10. ركبت لطلع طلعتها المطايا

    ولون الليل أسود من جفاها

    She rode the saddle when she set out,

    The night was blackened by her absence.

  11. فما برحت رياح الورد تدني ال

    مطايا من حماه إلى حماها

    The fragrant breeze still carries

    Scent from her guard to her tent,

  12. إلى أن ضمني قصرٌ منيعٌ

    سما شرفاً وبنياناً وجاها

    Until I was brought to a lofty palace,

    Exalted, built to elevate her.

  13. به من عين جلق ذات خدرٍ

    تبرّ بعين وجرةٍ من أتاها

    There Beauty with languid eyes resides,

    A fawn bewildered in her sun.

  14. كأن الصبح بين ذؤابتيها

    فرى جنح الدجنة وافتراها

    Her light splits the gloom,

    As she once cleaved minds in awe.

  15. بدت كالبانة الميلاء لما

    أبان ضجيج راحلتي كراها

    She seemed a radiant full moon

    When my mount’s clamor drew her forth,

  16. تريد ضيافتي وتقول سل ما

    تحب فقلت سلمى لا سواها

    Wanting to host me, she asked, “Name your wish!”

    I said, “To see you and no other.”

  17. فكان جوابها أهلاً وسهلاً

    ألذ ولا أبالغ من لَماها

    She answered, “Welcome and greetings!”

    Sweetest words from her honeyed mouth.

  18. فبت معانقاً منها غزالاً

    يتيه على الغزالة في ضحاها

    I stayed embracing a doe from her,

    A fawn wandering in her sun.

  19. أشق بنورها مهج الدياجي

    كما شقَّت ظُبَى المولى الجباها

    The Emir of Jeddah, the Guide, the Herald -

    Faithful Trustee, the Chosen Praised One -

  20. أمير جده الهادي البشير ال

    أمين الصادق المختار طه

    May God prolong his exalted life

    And empower the keenness of his mind!

  21. براه اللَه نفساً للمعالي

    وكوَّن من فراسته قواها

    When the world seeks refuge in his wisdom,

    He restores its faded youth.

  22. إذا الدنيا بحكمته استجارت

    أعاد لها وقد شاخت صباها

    He consoles its woes with reforms

    That make one forget past troubles.

  23. وحلّاها بإصلاح ينسِّي ال

    بلاهة من يحب الانتباها

    The Muslim nations ransom him -

    An Imam who surpassed all in nobility and glory.

  24. يفدّيه الأيمة من قريش

    إماماً سادها شرفاً وجاها

    His white swords penetrate the brave,

    Then return like anemones from his threshing.

  25. تزور سيوفه الهامات بيضاً

    وترجع كالشقائق عن ذراها

    They busy themselves with holy war, unconcerned

    With trifles when supporting the Truth.

  26. تلاهى بالجهاد عن الملاهي

    وعن نصر الحقيقة ما تلاهى

    He certified the sciences with his judgments,

    Encompassing every issue from its nucleus.

  27. وحبَّرَ للعلوم يراع حبرٍ

    يخوّل كل مسألة مناها

    His hands wield sharp swords and high principles,

    As well as polished blades and lofty peaks.

  28. يميناً بالصوارم والعوالي

    وبالجرد القداح ومن علاها

    For Abd al-Qadir al-Husseini - most generous

    And gentle, whether yielding or vaunting -

  29. لعبد القادر الحسنيِّ أسمى

    وأسمح من تواضع أو تباهى

    He has a quality greater than pearls

    And higher standing than the stars.

  30. له شيمٌ أعز من الدراري

    وأرفع في المكانة من سهاها

    Through you, son of nobles and sublime hills,

    The best that Grace cultivated.

  31. بك ابن المشرفية والعوالي

    وأفضل من حباها واجتباها

    The Blessed Feast shone brighter

    With the joyous light it gained from you.

  32. زها العيد المجيد وزاد نوراً

    ببهجة نيِّرٍ منك اجتلاها

    With it you slaughtered cares from every weary one,

    Slaughtering adversaries and personnel.

  33. نحرت به العنا عن كل عانٍ

    نحرت له البوازل والشياها

    So you are most deserving of congratulations

    For the abundant joy you obtained.

  34. فأصبح منك أجدر بالتهاني

    لفرط مسرة منك اقتناها

    Thus feasts remain a necklace for you,

    A circle whose end meets its beginning.

  35. فلا زالت لك الأعياد طوقاً

    كدائرةٍ نهايتها ابتداها
