1. عين الغزالة تحت عين غزالِ

    أكِّد تجد إنسانها في الخالِ

    The gazelle's eye below the eye of a gazelle

    You will surely find her human in seclusion

  2. واعلم بأن الليل ليل ذوائبٍ

    والبدر بدر ملاحةٍ وجمال

    And know that the night is a fleeting night

    The full moon is a moon of splendor and beauty

  3. قدَّ الدجى قدَّ الرباب فضرَّجت

    آس الخضاب بحمرة الجريال

    The darkness has drawn near, the tambourine has sounded

    Dyeing the myrtle tree red like henna

  4. فاشرب على ورد الخدود بكوكب

    ناقٍ يجود بجوهرٍ سيّال

    So drink from the roses of the cheeks with a star

    Yielding generously a flowing liquid

  5. تعلو فواقعه وتسقط مثلما

    يقع الجراد على غدير زلال

    Rising over its banks and falling just as

    Locusts fall upon a flowing brook

  6. أفلا يسرك قرب باردة اللمى

    ويزيل عنك حرارة البلبال

    Would you not be pleased by the coolness of the beloved’s saliva

    And relieve you from the heat of confusion

  7. وهي التي جلت السلاف فخلتها

    قمراً يزف غزالةً بهلال

    She who adorned the necklaces and left them

    A moon sending forth a gazelle with a crescent

  8. سبحان من خلق الرباب ملية ال

    أرداف ذات مخصَّرٍ ميّال

    Glory to Him who created the enchanting tambourine

    With swaying hips leaning to one side

  9. بيضاء تكتسب النجوم ملاحةً

    من جيدها الحالي وفيها الحالي

    White gaining splendor from the stars

    From her snowy neck and in it is beauty

  10. ما قابلت فلك الزجاج بثغرها

    إلّا تبدل ليله بلآلي

    When her mouth met the sphere of glass

    Its night turned into glittering radiance

  11. لم أدر حين ضممت ناحل خصرها

    أهو الضجيع أم الضجيع خيالي

    I did not know when she hugged her slender waist

    Whether it was the lover or my imaginary lover

  12. ومن التي نعت الدجى لخليلها

    أحمامة الوادي أم الخلخالِ

    And who described the darkness to her beloved

    The valley's dove or her ankle bells

  13. كيف السبيل لسلسبيل رضابها

    وعلىالأسيل مدارج الأصلال

    How can I attain her swaying necklace

    With stairways of cascading waterfalls upon it

  14. ولدى الشفاه الحمر سمرُ عوامل

    ولدى العيون السود بيض نصال

    And at the red lips are the moles of charms

    And at the black eyes are piercing glances

  15. ما زال يمنعني الرضاب قوامها

    حتى نجا المعسول بالعسَّال

    Her swaying figure still prevents me

    So that the bee escaped with the honey gatherer

  16. تاهت عليَّ ألا تتيه صبيةٌ

    ذمَّ الشبابَ لها مشيب قذالي

    I became lost - would that a young girl not get lost

    Whose youth the vicissitudes of fate made decline

  17. وأمالها كالسمهريِّ دلالُها

    وأمالني كالمشرفيِّ زوالي

    Her inclinations are coquettish, her glances languorous

    While my inclinations are like the declining sunset

  18. يا رب ما لي ما خلوتُ بسلوةٍ

    وتخال ذات الخال أني خالي

    Oh Lord, why did I become intimate with Solace

    And Imagined that the one with the mole was my intimate

  19. فدَّيت حسنكَ والدلالَ بكل ذي

    حسن وذات ملاحة ودلال

    I ransom your beauty, coquetry and every possessor

    Of splendor, charm and amorous allurement

  20. ضدان متفقان منك على دمي

    عينٌ مغازلة وقلب سال

    Two contrary things agreeing in you against my blood

    An amorous glance and a melting heart

  21. لا تنكري هذا البياض بعارضي

    فبياض شيبي من بياض خصالي

    Do not deny by my sideburns this whiteness

    The whiteness of my old age is due to my sterling traits

  22. لو تخضبين بآس فرعك طلعه

    لتحول الكافور مسك غزال

    If you dye with henna the sprouts of your branch

    Camphor would turn to musky gazelle

  23. زعم السواك رضاب ثغرك سكَّراً

    حتى السواك به من الجهال

    The tooth stick claimed your mouth's moles sealed it

    So that even the tooth stick is ignorant

  24. قل يا سواك بميم ثغرك مسكرٌ

    فسواك أعلم منك بالجريال

    Say, O tooth stick, your mouth’s seal is the musky

    So the tooth stick knows better than you

  25. علم ابن باز اللَه نوري المرتضي

    بمحاسن الأقوال والأعمال

    The son of Baz, Nur al-Din al-Murtada

    In the excellences of speech and deeds

  26. المعتني بعبيده وعديده

    مثل اعتناء الليث بالأشبال

    Who takes care of His servants and multitudes

    As a lioness tends to her cubs

  27. من لا تغيره الخطوب عن الولا

    والجود عند تغيُّر الأحوال

    Whose loyalty does not change in hardships

    Or generosity when times alter

  28. المقتني سمرَ القنا للقالي

    والمجتني ثمَر الغنى لمُوال

    Who stores dried meat for the winter

    And reaps fruit of wealth for his protege

  29. غوث العفاة العارض الهامي الذي

    أمنت حماة به من الأمحال

    Succor of the destitute, formidable defender

    Whose protectors felt safe from burdens

  30. حسب السياسة أن تظل ولاتها

    كمحمدٍ محمودة الأفعال

    As befits governance, his domains remain

    Praiseworthy in deeds like Muhammad

  31. لِتُجار من حسراتها وتُقال من

    عثراتها وتنال خير منال

    That you may avoid regrets, stumbling corrected

    And attain the best that can be attained

  32. فهو المصيب وكلُّ رأيٍ مخطئٌ

    وهو المجيب وكل سمحٍ كالي

    For he is the correct one while every other view errs

    He is the answerer while every liberal is stingy

  33. وهو المدافع في العلى بيراعةٍ

    أمضى من الفصَّال والعسّال

    He defends vehemently with proficiency

    More resolute than the brave heroes

  34. ما حاجتي بالغيث أمسك أو همَى

    ويداه كافلتي من الإقلال

    Why would I need rain gathering or withholding

    While his hands have secured me from paucity

  35. وجنان جلق يانعٌ بسماحه

    وسواه يمطر وهو في إمحال

    The gardens of Galq are verdant with his generosity

    While the others rain yet claim to have nothing to give

  36. ساوى الأجانب بالأقارب عدله

    فتشاكلا بإزالة الإشكال

    His justice made foreigners equal to relatives

    And so they became similar, grievances dispelled

  37. ومحا الجهالة بالعلوم كما محا

    ظلم الظلوم ببأسه الرئبالي

    He erased ignorance with knowledge just as

    He erased oppression of tyrants with his might

  38. شيم امرئٍ أرضى الحميد وعبده

    إذ غاظ كلَّ منافقٍ جوَّال

    The merit of one who pleases the Praiseworthy and serves Him

    Even if it infuriates every hostile blusterer

  39. ته أيها المترفق المتدفق ال

    متألق المتصدق المتلالي

    Bestow, O most merciful overflowing

    Radiant, charitable and continued blessings

  40. وافخر فأنت العالم العلَم الذي

    يوماه يوم ندىً ويوم نضال

    And boast - for you are the scholar, the flag

    Whose days are sometimes dew and others strife

  41. والأبلج البر الذي أعياده

    أبديةٌ ليست بذات زوال

    The righteous innocent one whose holidays

    Are eternal, having no decline

  42. وإذا الفتى نسب الأمور لربه

    بلغ المراد ودام خلو البال

    And when the youth attributes matters to his Lord

    He attains his goal with peace of mind

  43. قد أقبل العيد المجيد مقدماً

    لك حلة الإقبال والإجلال

    The glorious feast has arrived heralding

    For you the garb of welcoming and veneration

  44. فارفل بها ما دام عيدٌ مقبلاً

    أو مدبراً واسلم لكل هلال

    So dress yourself with it as long as a feast arrives

    Or departs and submit to every crescent

  45. واقبل مخدرةً تريك بخدها

    عين الغزالة تحت عين غزال

    And accept the wine bearer who shows you in her cheek

    The gazelle’s eye below the eye of a gazelle
