تعلو على طلع النخيل تستري

Her anklets sang, so say to a dove

perched on the palms' tops taking shelter,

فحمامتي خير الحمام لأنها

تعلو على كند الهمام القسور

"My dove is best of all the doves

because atop the valiant's helm she perches."
