I said to the gazelle who softened her heart for us,
"O desire of fever and sun of yearnings,
How pleasant is the drink of dawn after union.
So she bent and sang, and from her cheek rose
The redolence of intimacy in the night."
The wind abated and loss befell the wine cup.
Do you wish that I make up with some of it, O my gazelle?
I said, "O my wish and destination of my desire,
Two thirds of it would remove all my troubles."
