1. بان الصيامُ وأقبل الفطرُ

    فالآن ما لبني الصفا عذرُ

    Ramadan has ended and Eid has come,

    So the people of goodness now have no excuse.

  2. هذي الكؤوس يزفها قمرٌ

    في راحتيه النهى والأمر

    These cups are brought by a shining moon,

    With freedom and authority in its comfort.

  3. لو تكتفي برحيق مبسمه

    أغناك عما تفعل الخمر

    If you would be content with its pure nectar,

    It would suffice you instead of what wine does.

  4. فاشرب على ريحان طرته

    راحاً لها من ريحه نشر

    So drink to the scent of its basil,

    At ease with the fragrance it releases.

  5. ورديةً بكراً يعصفرها

    وطء المزاج وهكذا البكر

    Rose-colored, virgin, that masculinity

    And vigor have trod - and so with the virgin.

  6. لا يلهينك عن حلاوتها ال

    صبر الذي مثل اسمه صبر

    Let nothing distract you from its sweetness

    Except the patience that matches its name.

  7. قد دالت الدنيا لذي ظرفٍ

    يثني عليه العبد والحر

    The world has leaned toward one with charm

    Praised by slave and freeman alike.

  8. لا يبرح اللهو الوسيم له

    ولمخلص التعظيم والفخر

    Playful joy never leaves him

    Nor solemnity and pride and glory.

  9. برٌّ يزور عبيده كرماً

    وبدورهم من جوده بحر

    Goodness visits his servants out of kindness

    And in turn, their generosity is an ocean from his bounty.

  10. متواضعٌ وابن الأكابر لا

    يلوي عنان كماله الكبر

    Humble, though the son of great men,

    Lofty perfection does not make him arrogant.

  11. راحاته غيث ورحمته

    غوثٌ ولكن بأسه جمر

    His comfort is rain, and his mercy salvation,

    Yet his might is fierce flames.

  12. ما زار جلق مثله بشرٌ

    من وجهه يتكون البشر

    No human like him has ever visited a community -

    From his face, humanity originated.

  13. يا ليلةً ضاءت بطلعته

    حتى كأن أديمها فجر

    O night illuminated by his rising

    As if its expanse were dawn.

  14. إن مر يوماً لا أفاخره

    بك لا تفاخر بي فتىً برُّ

    If a day comes I cannot boast of you,

    Do not boast of me, O virtuous youth.

  15. شاهدت فيك الشمس مشرقةً

    يمتاحها من كوكب بدر

    I saw in you the brilliant sun rising,

    Quenching its thirst from a full moon.

  16. حي اللثام له عليَّ يدٌ

    لا ينقضي مني لها الشكر

    The hand that has a covering over me

    I can never finish thanking.

  17. دامت به الأيام زاهيةً

    ما بان صومٌ وابتدا فطر

    With it, may days continue joyful,

    With no fasting that concluded in Eid.
