أمرت لك الأمر المطاع بأن ترى

فرائد شعري وهي أغزر من شعري

I commanded you with absolute command to see

The gems of my poetry, richer than my poetry

فواخجلي من عقد درٍّ أصوغه

لديك وكل الدر بعض حصى البحر

So be shy of a necklace of pearls I string

For you, though all pearls are but pebbles of the sea
