فرَش الرَّبيعُ لنا خَمائِلَ سُنْدُسٍ
مِن حولها غُدْرانُهُنَّ فَراوِزُ
Spring spread for us bowers of finest silk,
Around them, their pools were turquoise gems;
ومشَى بها سارِي الصَّبا مُتَسَلِّلاً
وعليه أعْيُنُ نُورِه تَتَغامَزُ
And through them walked the night-roving zephyr, slipping stealthily,
While the eyes of its light exchanged winks at him.
