كتم اسم من همت غراماً به

أحمد من كشف وإعلان

I concealed the name of one for whom I longed,

Ahmed who revealed and announced.

فإن نأى فابك على فقده

بالعكس من نصف اسمه الثاني

If he became distant, then cry over losing him

In reverse order of the second half of his name.

وإن تصحف عكس نصف اسمه

أمنت من صد وهجران

And if you mispronounce the reverse of half his name,

You will be safe from rejection and estrangement.
