1. يا صاحب التاج والمقلد والخال

    من أعجم في الخد واو صدغك بالخال

    O friend of the crown, necklace, and mole

    Who has made speechless with a mole on his cheek, and whose temple is adorned with a mole

  2. أو أنتج بالفرق الصباح قياسا

    قد أوضح الشكال حيث قسم أشكال

    Either you have created the morning as a measure

    By making apparent the forms, wherever forms divide

  3. أو كون تجما بأفق خدك شمسا

    أو صيّر شهدا بكاس ثغرك جريال

    Or gather on your cheek's horizon a sun

    Or make your mouth's chalice to brim with honey

  4. لو زين جنات وجنتيك بصدغ

    كالعقرب في اللسع للعزائم حلال

    If you adorned gardens and your two cheeks with a mole

    Like Scorpio in its sting, resolute

  5. أو أبدع في الثغر جوهرا زلالا

    والدر عهدنا لا يكون بسلسال

    Or created in the mouth a flowing pearl

    And pearls in our time are not to be chained

  6. او أوتر قوسي حويجبيك بسحر

    أو فوق سهمي مقلتيك ليغتال

    Or strung my eyebrows’ bow with magic

    Or over my arrow placed your eyelashes to slay

  7. أو سل لفتك من الجفون حساما

    أو هز لحرب من المعاطف عسال

    Or unleashed your charm as a sword from the eyelids

    Or moved for war from the hair a spear

  8. أو صير للفتك راس نهدك سنا

    أو قوم للطعن رمح قدك إذ مال

    Or made for your charm the breast’s prominence a spearhead

    Or stood for stabbing the thigh’s spear once it leaned

  9. أفديك مهاة لها الفؤاد كناس

    تسبي بدلال الظبي وسطوة الأشبال

    I would sacrifice for you a passion whose heart is like an oryx

    Enticing with the coquetry of a gazelle and boldness of cubs

  10. لمياء رشوق عروب عاتق خود

    هيفاء عطوف لعوب ناهد مكسال

    The shine of morning radiance on the chest of your form

    Slender waist, affectionate manner, playful bosom, lazy gait

  11. يا لحظ ربيب ويا جبين هلال

    يا قد قضيب ويا روادف منهال

    O you who pleases a loved one and whose crescent forehead

    Makes perfect your straight stature and robes of perfection

  12. قد ظل محاك بنور وجهك بدرا

    ما الكامل للناقص التمام بتمثال

    You whom God made before any existence

    Of light of beauty and rays of majesty

  13. أو قال بإيجاب مشبه ونظير

    لا كيد له لا وكرامة إن قال

    You who were and Adam and dust were not

    You who became when between water and clay

  14. أو أوجب أسرا بحبها فخلاصي

    أن امدح من خص بالجمال والإجلال

    Who on the Day of Gathering beneath your banner

    Shall convene sheikh and father, prophets and messengers

  15. طه القمر الزاهر المنير جمالا

    من عززة الحسن أن يقاس بأمثال

    Whom Adam took as intercessor and was pardoned

    Whom you clothed Sheeth in the cloak of grace

  16. من كونه الله قبل كل وجود

    من نور جمال ومن أشعة إجلال

    Idris exalted by your majesty ascended

    Enveloped in dignity and adorned with perfection

  17. من كان ولا كان آدم وتراب

    من صار وقد صار بين ماء وصلصال

    Through whom Noah attained safety on the ship

    Whom you favored Saleh by righteous deeds

  18. من يحشر يوم المعاد تحت لواه

    شيت وأبوه والأنبياء والأرسال

    Through whom Hud became mighty among the tribes of Aad

    Through whom Lot battled the abhorrent hordes

  19. من لاذ به آدم فتيب عليه

    من ألبس شيت به سوابغ الأفضال

    Who made for Abraham the cursed fire

    Coolness and peace, and multiplied his graces

  20. من بوا ايدريس من علاه معال

    حفت بوقار وأتحفته بإكمال

    Who ordained the slaughter’s sacrifice for the immolated ram

    Who made Ishmael chosen in the wilderness

  21. من نال به نوح في السفينة أمنا

    من خص به صالح بصالح الأعمال

    Who returned Joseph to Jacob through prayer

    He guaranteed his name, so it was answered swiftly

  22. من عز به هود في قبائل عاد

    من جاهد لوط به الطوائف الأرذال

    Who singled out Joseph in the well with beauty

    Without him, events would not be in truth occur

  23. من صير نار اللعين بعد ضرام

    بردا وسلاما على الخليل وأفضال

    Who bestowed on the Israelite tribes through his guidance blessings

    The abundant good derived from them are branches

  24. من سن لنحر الذبيح نحر أضاح

    من صير إسحاق في البرية مفضال

    Who graced Shuaib thereby wit and pride

    When he empowered Moses for the Madian girl

  25. من رد ليعقوب يوسف بدعاء

    قد ضمن أسماه فاستجيب بإعجال

    Who aided Moses to battle the Jews, leaving

    Their faces like monkeys and their forms like swine

  26. من خصص في الجب يوسف بأسام

    لولاه لما كن في الحقيقة أفعال

    Who clarified for Aaron the traits of the Scripture

    Stopping the sun at zenith for Joshua's blades

  27. من نول الأسباط من هداه بكورا

    عم اليسع المستمد منهم آصال

    Who prepared for Alexander, whom knowledge made lofty

    Who favored the King of Nations thereby with power

  28. من حاز شعيب به وقى وفخارا

    إذ مكن موسى من الفتاة لميجال

    Who honored Luqman when He gave him in secret life

    Who rescued Job from the severing of limbs

  29. من جاهد موسى به اليهود فأمسوا

    كالقرد وجوها وكالخنازر أشكال

    Who made Elias soar through the heavens in flight

    Unreachable by any aspirant no matter how long

  30. من أظهر هارون وصفه لكتاب

    قد أوقف شمس الضحى ليوشع إنصال

    Who stopped in the sky David’s birds mid-flight

    When he subjugated jinn and made mountains obey

  31. من هيّأ للحضر من علاه علوما

    من نعم الإسكندر المليك به البال

    Whom Solomon took as refuge so he ascended

    By the Meem and Hah and then Meem and Daal

  32. من كرم لقمان إذ حياه بسر

    قد أنقذ أيوب من تقطع أوصال

    Whom gladened the intimate, the trustee, and John

    In family, livestock, womenfolk, and spoils

  33. من طار به إلياس في الفضاء مطارا

    لا يدرك ما طاول المطاول ما طال

    Whom the companion of the fish found as rays of light

    Saving him from trials and choosing him as messenger

  34. من أوقف داود في السماء طيورا

    إذ سخر جنا له وأوب أجبال

    Through whom Zakaria gained contentment and acceptance

    When the vile ones crucified him from below

  35. من لاذ سليمان باسمه فترقى

    بالميم مع الحاء ثم ميم مع الدال

    Whom Jesus used to cure all sickness and revive

    The dead and enrich without plea by his words

  36. من عزز ذا الكفل والعزيز ويحيى

    في الآل والأنعام والنساء والأنفال

    Whom heralded Sheba by his mission and Saba by scripture

    Whom the soothsayer of Okaz confirmed truthful by his sayings

  37. من آنس ذو النون من سناه شعاعا

    أنجاه من الميم واصطفاه بإرسال

    Whom the jinn and voices reported about

    And beasts and idols and seers told of his circumstances

  38. من نال به الصبر والرضا زكريا

    لما نشروا عظمه الأسافل الأنذال

    Who honored his conception, birth, nursing

    Empowered by bone, puberty, and sending

  39. من أبرأ عيسى به الجذام وأحيا ال

    أموات وأغنى من السؤال بما قال

    Whom the mother saw when he descended at noon

    The horizon shook, mountains and dunes

  40. من بشّر شق ببعثه وسطيح

    من أرسل سيعد به ورقه أمثال

    Whom she was given joy and abundant bliss

    When she delivered him, excellent in circumstance

  41. من حبّر قص صفاته بعكاظ

    من فيه سواد بن قارب صدق القال

    For whom Sawa’s water diminished and ebbed

    The palace and Persian fires showed no flames

  42. من أنبأت الجن والهواتف عنه

    والوحش والأصنام والكواهن أحوال

    Who was nursed from Halima’s breast, thereupon

    Refusing to nurse except whom conditions made worthy

  43. من عزز حملا وموالدا ورضاعا

    من عزّز بالعظم والبلوغ والارسال

    Whom Gabriel purified at heart and filled

    With knowledge, discharging the heedless of neglect

  44. من عاينت الأم إذ توالد بصرى

    واهتزّ لها الأفق والوهاد والأجبال

    Whom clouds shaded from hot winds’ fury

    Whom rain obeyed wherever directed to unleash

  45. من أتحفها بهجة وفرّط سرور

    لما وضعته مطيبا حسن الحال

    To whom the elephants attested in the Yemen,

    Saying this is the Messenger of the eminent emissaries

  46. من غاض له ماء ساوة وتداعي ال

    إيوان ولم تبد نار فارس أشعال

    To whom vegetation and objects spoke clearly

    To whom the deer and camel fled burden

  47. من أرضع ثدي حليمة فتحاشى

    أن يرضع إلا الذي اقتضت به الحال

    To whom the wolf and fawn spoke truthfully

    Warned by the wolf and gazelle with signs

  48. من طهر جبريل قلبه وحشاه

    علما ورمى من حشاه نكتة الإغفال

    Who halted the sun, not for Quraysh’s sake

    At time of setting, returning it for Ali the lofty

  49. من ظلله الغيم من وهيج هجير

    وانقاد له الغيث حيث شاء بارسال

    For whom the moon split in the sky gloriously

    To whom the tree trunk leaned wherever leaned

  50. من مال له الفي حيث قال بحيرا

    هذا وأبي سيد الأجلة الأرسال

    For whom the stone slab softened when he walked in dignity

    For whom the sand empowered to show his image

  51. من خاطبه النبت والجماد شفاها

    من لاذّ به الظبي والبعير من أثقال

    Whom the cave and doves and ants protected

    Manifesting without doubt light in effigy and forms

  52. من صدقه الضب والوليد بقول

    أنباه به الذئب والغزالة والخال

    To whom the she-camel came willingly hearing and obedient

    And turned back bleating to the place given

  53. من أوقف الشمس لغير قريش

    في وقت غروب وردّها لعلي العال

    For whom the salty food and meat gave praise

    Who made water stream from fingers unchained

  54. من شق له البدر في السماء جلالا

    من حن له الجذع حيث مال وما مال

    Who made the coercion hear his words while smiling:

    "Do not eat my flesh, for my poison is lethal"

  55. من لان له الصخر إذ مشى بوقار

    من عز به الرمل أن يبين تمثال

    Whom a touch of the sheep's ear satisfied thirst

    Who satiated a thousand from one measure, still remaining

  56. من حجبه الغار والحمام وأبدا

    ه النور بلا ريب في المثال وأشكال

    Who trod by sandal the precinct of the holy presence

    And was graced with the crown of intimidation and cloak of perfection

  57. من جاء له العتق سامعا ومطيعا

    وأرتدّ قريرا إلى المكان بما نال

    Whom God elevated wherever He decreed

    Beyond the realm of imagination, however far-ranging

  58. من سبح صلد بكفه وطعام

    من أنبع ماء من الأصابع سلسال

    Whom God lodged above every other station

    For Gabriel ascended beyond it to the Lote Tree of the Limit

  59. من أسمع قول الذرارع وهو حنيذ

    لا تأكل لحمي فإن سمي قتّال

    Drawn near by revelation, when nearing in prostration

    In the presence of intimacy, without likeness or image

  60. من درّ بلمس له العناق فأروى

    من أشبع الفا من الصواع وما زال

    Achieving pride of eyewitnessing and speech

    And nearness from the Bounteous One and grace

  61. من داس بنعل بساط حضرة قدس

    وأعتزّ بتاج البها وحلة الأكمال

    Who commanded angels in heaven collectively

    Who led people on earth in ranks for prayer

  62. من رفعه الله حيث حل محلا

    لا يدركه العقل في الخيال وإن جال

    Whom He sent with truth to creation openly

    Whom He singled out in truth when departing and when halting

  63. من بوأه الله فوق كل مقام

    إذ جاوز جبريل في العروج وميكال

    Remaining when his eyelashes closed in sleep

    Watchful, while the angel took account

  64. من أزلف بالوحي إذ دنا فتدلّى

    في حضرة أنس بلا مثلل وتمثال

    Who made the two horizons place of prostration and pure

    Intending to pray in them and make spoils permitted

  65. من حاز فخارا برؤية وكلام

    واختص بقرب من الكريم وإفضال

    Who stood in worship until legs became swollen

    Who struggled against the soul and battled misguidance

  66. من أم بالأملاك في السماء جميعا

    من قدّم في الأرض للصلاة بالارسال

    Who bound stones to his stomach when hunger

    Afflicted him in migration with heavy burdens

  67. من أرسل بالحق للخلائق طرا

    من خصص بالصدق في المضيّ وفي الحال

    Who was given generosity, honor, and wealth

    When given forbearance, nobility, and heights

  68. من كان إذا غض لمقلتيه بنوم

    يقضان فؤاد يراقب الملك الكال

    Who was most complete in fulfilling commands humbly

    Most beautiful in cautioning through deterrents wisely

  69. من صير الأرضين مسجدا وطهورا

    إذ رام صلاة بها وحلل أنفال

    O best of messengers and most perfect of prophets

    Most obedient servant who calls to the Sublime

  70. من قام إلى أن تورمت قدماه

    من جاهد نفسا وجاهد النكر الضال

    O best of friends and greatest of speakers

    Best beloved who saw and best youth who spoke

  71. من شد على بطنه الحجارة لما

    نالته من الصوم في الهواجر أثقال

    O noblest caller who came with the noblest words

    In the noblest time called to the noblest deeds

  72. من أعطي جودا وعزة وغناء

    إذ أعطيّ حلما ورفعة وعلا عال

    How great the name you revived with pride

    How beautiful the deeds whose nature you clarified

  73. من أعلن بالقول إذ أتاه بلال

    أنفق ودع المنع لا تخاف من إقلال

    How fragrant when the musk of your generosity diffused

    How precise when the rain of your kindness poured

  74. من حقق بشرى خديجة وحباها

    فخرا بزواج به البسيطة تختال

    How beautiful your essence and most perfect your splendor

    How excellent your words and most wonderful your deeds

  75. من أيدّ بالحق إذ أتاه أناسا

    في عائشة الطهر بأفكون بأقوال

    How wondrous when you were the light of existence

    How strange if you were from whom came dust

  76. من بوّا أزواجه مراتب عز

    في حضرة فخر على مفارق إجلال

    Devised from mankind perfect manifestations

    Like a pearl atop splendor, winning highest rank

  77. من عزز قدر الرضا البتول فعزّت

    عن حصر مقال وعن تحوط قوال

    Revered with majesty, nurtured to perfection

    To highest summit drawn, trailing robes

  78. ومن نول سلمان والموالي فخرا

    من شرف الأعمام والبنين والأخوال

    Clarifying meanings most splendid, dispelling forms’ darkness

    Brought near in nearness, addressing with humility

  79. من قال أنا سيد الأعاجم طرا

    والعرب ولا فخر والحقيقة ما قال

    Returned you with kindness, clothing you in grace

    Made pure and holy, above the words of misguidance

  80. من زاد به الدين عزّة وبهاء

    من ذلّ به الكفر حيث عز بدجال

    Shook mountains of calamities, greatest earthquake

    Trod by sandal the throne of majesty

  81. من أبده الله بالملائك لما

    وافته قريش نهار بدر بأبطال

    O treasure of Abu Bakr, the true successor

    O might of Abu Hafs, dispeller of misguidance

  82. من صد أبا جهل اللعين وأردى

    بالرمح أبيّا وزاد عتبة أنكال

    O pride of Abu Umar, the near kinsman by marriage

    O glory of Ali, the esteemed youth

  83. من صير في كفه القضيب حساما

    من صير يوم الوغى الضراغم أو عال

    O joy of the pleased Ridha and safety attained

    O loftiness of Sa’d, felicitous in circumstance

  84. من أبرا عيني أبي الحسين بريق

    في خيبر كيما يبيد مرجب الأبطال

    O delight of the eye of the valiant Talhah when

    Called: fear not, the mounting of steeds

  85. من ردّ بريق معوذ لما

    قدّت وكذلك رجل الأكوع ذي البال

    O happiness of the heart of the youth al-Zubair and the one

    Whom he saved without doubt from terrors’ affliction

  86. من يقدمه الرعب حيث سار بشهر

    من عززه النصر حيث صال بفصال

    O tidings for the son of Uthman the precious, melody

    O success of Abu Ubaydah’s raids when he marched

  87. من أسقط الأوثان إذ أشار وأعيا

    بالمعول والقضيب من أصاب ومن صال

    O aid of the Companions, O strife of the devout

    O pillar of followers, essence of deeds

  88. من صدقه الجن إذ أتى بكتاب

    لا يخلق جلبابه الزمان وإن طال

    Without you the universe would have no ideal

    Without you the worlds would have no form

  89. من سبح من عظم الإله بصدق

    من كبر من هلل المهيمن إجلال

    Without you darkness would have no morning glow

    Without you rays would have no shining

  90. من شهد من شاهد الوجود عيانا

    من ظاهر من أظهر العلوم لجهال

    Without you lightning would have no luster

    Without you clouds would have no rain

  91. من قرب من قرب البعيد لعان

    من حبب من حبب التيمن بالفال

    Without you stars would have no light

    Without you crescents would have no newness

  92. من خصص من خصص الهداة بأمن

    من خلص من خلص الغواة بإمهال

    Without you there’d be no night and day

    Without you no dawns and evenings

  93. من زين من زين المقر بتاج

    من يوا من بوا الجحود بأغلال

    Without you birds would not soar in the horizon

    Without you cubs would not roam wilderness

  94. كم أبرا من علة وفرط جنون

    كم أوصل من قاطع وقطع أوصال

    Without you sky would not be adorned by stars

    Without you plain would not unfurl mountains

  95. كم أمن خوفا وكم أقال عثارا

    كم ألبس عار وكم تفضل بالمال

    Without you seas would have no splendor

    Without you wave would have no rippling

  96. كم أنعش من ميّت وأتلف حيا

    كم فرج من كربة وحقق آمال

    Without you spring would have no blossoms

    Without you Shawwal would have no prestige

  97. كم أظهر هديا وكم أباد ضلالا

    كم نوّل من صادق وخيّب محتال

    Without you there’d be no Garden or Fire

    Without you no Scrolls and no Reckoning

  98. يا أجمل خلق بدا وأحسن خلق

    يا أصبح وجه أضا وافضح قوّال

    Without you there’d be no Plain of Gathering and Account

    Without you no salvation or perdition

  99. يا أجود من سامة الوجود غناء

    يا أعبد من صام في الهجير ومن صال

    Without you some would not say of witnessing

    Guiding the lost, excellent deeds

  100. يا أجود كفّ ويما أجدّ جهاد

    يا أفتك عضب لذي الجلاد وعسال

    Without you prayer in maturity would not be decreed

    Fasting until night, alms from wealth

  101. يا أروع من حقق الضلال برشد

    يا أروع من قال في الظلال ومن قال

    Without you steeds would not race as pilgrims

    Without you cameleers would not journey virtuously

  102. يا أعدل من حد للغصاة حدودا

    يا أفضل من جاد للعفاة بأموال

    Without you saddles would not sway in yearning

    Without you howdahs would not sway in procession

  103. يا أكمل من قام بالأوامر داع

    يا اسمل من زاح بالزواجر عقّال

    Without you there would be no Kaaba or Station

    Without you no pausing at Mash’ar or Mina

  104. يا خير نبئ ويا أتم رسول

    يا أطوع عبد دعا إلى الملك العال

    Without you there would be no Zamzam or Hateem

    Without you no passes or ruins

  105. يا خير خليل ويا أجل كليم

    يا خير حبيب رأى وخير فتى قال

    Without you there would be no Taibah or Baqee

    Without you no Ascent or Saee performed

  106. يا أشرف داع أتى بأشرف قول

    في أشرف وقت دعا لأشرف أعمال

    Without you Yanbu’s spring would not flow

    Without you Bat-ha would not grow dense with vegetation

  107. ما أعظم اسما حييتهف بفخار

    ما أجمل فعلا أبنت عنه بأقوال

    How felicitous the foot that strode to you

    Complaining anxiety, to return laden with grace

  108. ما أطيب إذ صاع نثر طيبك مسكا

    ما أصوب إذ عاد غيث جودك هطال

    How excellent Hassan praising, how sweet

    His beauties speaking of you

  109. ما أجمل ذاتا وما أتمّ بهاء

    ما أحسن قولا وما أميلحض أفعال

    O most generous to whom is dedicated praise and reward

    Bounty from hands encompassing first and last

  110. ما أعجب إذ كنت من تكون نورا

    ما أغرب إن صرت من تكون صلصال

    What else for Ibn Khafaf besides praising you as haven

    O refuge for one fearing fetters to be imposed

  111. ها أنت وإن كنت باطنا ملكيا

    صيّرت من الأنس في مظاهر إكمال

    It is unthinkable, after seeing you in a vision

    That I would be deprived of fortune’s robes in waking

  112. ها أنت وإن كنت قد ربيت فريدا

    كالدر علوت العلا وفزت بغيصال

    Or I would find death agony, my tongue

    Moist with praising the order occupying thoughts

  113. ها أنت وإنع كنت قد رعيّت صغيرا

    كم رعت كبيرا وقد رعيت بإجلال

    Or I would find the grave a pit of punishment

    Unless you protected me, given my praising horrors

  114. ها أنت وإن كنت قد وطئت ترابا

    صيرت بأعلى العلا تجرر أذيال

    It suffices me as honor that praising you has been my preoccupation

    Night and day, while moving about and while traveling

  115. ها أنت وإن كنت لم تخط حروفا

    اوضحت معان أزحن ظلمة الأشكال

    So bestow acceptance, for you are the most noble in judgment

    And favor me with gift, for you are most gracious in obligation

  116. ها أنت وإن كنت قد بعثت لخلق

    أزلفت بقرب نطقت فيه بإذلال

    Of light, swift Kamil meter, equal in rhyme

    Its structure woven delicate coquetry

  117. ها أنت وإن كنت أخرجتك قريش

    أواك بلطف كساك حلة إفضال

    Adorned by softness of speech in most excellent arrangement

    In Jumada composing it night after night

  118. ها أنت وإن كنت قد رموك بسحر

    نزهت وقدست عن مقالة ضلال

    Passing by the beauties of words, gathering speech nectar

    Of the year eight hundred after seventy years

  119. ها أنت وإن كنت قد سكنت وقارا

    زلزلت جبال الخطوب اعظم زلزال

    Preceding it four, by which lines formed

    By God and God is the oath, true and solemn

  120. ها أنت وإن كنت قد خصفت نعالا

    قد دست بنعل بساط حضرة إجلال

    By the leaves and tablets and psalms and Torah

    And Gospel and Book and sending of messengers

  121. يا ذخر أبي بكر الخليفة حقا

    يا عز أبي حفص المفرق الأضلال

    If being's waters entirely became ink

    The earth, spheres, and clouds scrolls

  122. يا فوز أبي عمر والمقرّب صهرا

    يا فخر علي الفتى المعزّز في الآل

    Branches pens, and collectively creation

    Writers recording fully

  123. يا سعد سعيد الرضا المنول أمنا

    يا رفة سعد العلا السعيد بأحوال

    The tenth would not be contained, nor ounce transcribed

    Of some traits of the beloved, goal of hopes

  124. يا قرّة عين الشجاع طلحة لما

    نودي وجبت لا تخاف علقة الأرحال

    Whom God lauded in the Book with praise

    Beyond description by verse however prolonged

  125. يا فرحة قلب الفتى الزبير ويا من

    أنجاه بلا ريب من مخاوف أهوال

    Whom God purified, beyond encompassing by trait

    Whom God made great, beyond compare

  126. يا بشر فتى عوف الأثير غناء

    يا نجح مغازي أبي عبيدة إذ جال

    Can vegetation and dust be limited afterward?

    Can droplets and clouds be measured by scale?

  127. يا بشر فتى عوف الأثير غناء

    يا نجح مغازي أبي عبيدة إذ جال

    Can battles contain

    Can earth and heaven be weighed precisely?

  128. يا نصرة الأصحاب يا عناء عفاة

    يا عمدة الأتباع يا خلاصة الأعمال

    Tremendous is the matter, how not for its circle

    The Mighty Orbit encompassing forms

  129. لولاك لما كان للوجود مثال

    لولاك لما كان للعوالم أشكال

    O of Majestic Dominion and Highest Kingdom

    Enoble that it be asked: where and what is the state?

  130. لولاك لما كان للغياهب دجن

    لولاك لما كان للأشعة إشعال

    O He who created earth and heaven and gave insight

  131. لولاك لما كان للبروق بروق

    لولاك لما كان للسحائب إرسال

    None other do I hope for, none other do I fear

    None other do I call upon, none for me suffices

  132. لولاك لما كان للنجوم نجوم

    لولاك لما كان للأهلّة إهلال

    So accept praise I have composed for your beloved and favor

    With pardon, beneficence, acceptance, and welcome

  133. لولاك لما كان نير وظلام

    لولاك لما كانت البكور والآصال

    And bless my parents with bliss

    And benefit my elders and Muslims through gifts

  134. لولاك لما طارت الطيور بأفق

    لولاك لما جابت السباسب أشبال

    And single out for special prayer and mercy and peace

    The Jurist Imam’s grave, prepared for horrors

  135. لولاك لما زانت السماء نجوم

    لولاك لما أرسلت البسيطة أجبال

    And caress in pleasure Jadd during prostration’s bowing

    For kinsfolk, followers, and family

  136. لولاك لما كان في البحار لآل

    لولاك لما آل في مهامه الآل

    Never has a lover said, when shunned by the beloved:

    O chain of sands, roamed by imagination

  137. لولاك لما عز في الشهور ربيع

    لولاك لما هل بالكرامة شوال

    Or circumambulated daybreak, singing:

    O friend of crown, necklace, and mole

  138. لولاك لما كانت جنة وجحيم

    لولاك لما خطّ في الصحائف أعمال

    O friend of the crown, necklace, and mole

    Who has made speechless with a mole on his cheek, and whose temple is adorned with a mole

  139. لولاك لما كان موقف وحساب

    لولاك لما كانت النجاة والأوحال

    Either you have created the morning as a measure

    By making apparent the forms, wherever forms divide

  140. لولاك لما قال بالشهادة قوم

    قادوا بزمام الهدى نجائب أفعال

    Or gather on your cheek's horizon a sun

    Or make your mouth's chalice to brim with honey

  141. لولاك لما أوجب الصلاة بلوغ

    والصوم إلى الليل والزكاة من المال

    If you adorned gardens and your two cheeks with a mole

    Like Scorpio in its sting, resolute

  142. لولاك لما أعمل الجياد حجيج

    لولاك لما ساقت الحداة بأجمال

    Or created in the mouth a flowing pearl

    And pearls in our time are not to be chained

  143. لولاك لما هفت المحامل شوقا

    لولاك لما أرقل الأباعر إرقال

    Or strung my eyebrows’ bow with magic

    Or over my arrow placed your eyelashes to slay

  144. لولاك لما كان كعبة ومقام

    لولاك لما حط في المحصب أحمال

    Or unleashed your charm as a sword from the eyelids

    Or moved for war from the hair a spear

  145. لولاك لما كان زمزم وحطيم

    لولاك لما كانت الشعاب والأطلال

    Or made for your charm the breast’s prominence a spearhead

    Or stood for stabbing the thigh’s spear once it leaned

  146. لولاك لما كان طيبة وبقيع

    لولاك لما أذهب المعرج أو جال

    I would sacrifice for you a passion whose heart is like an oryx

    Enticing with the coquetry of a gazelle and boldness of cubs

  147. لولاك لما أنبع الينَبع ماء

    لولاك لما أعشب البطيح بالضال

    The shine of morning radiance on the chest of your form

    Slender waist, affectionate manner, playful bosom, lazy gait

  148. ما أسعد كعب سعى به لك كعب

    يشكو غمرات فعاد منك بأفضال

    O you who pleases a loved one and whose crescent forehead

    Makes perfect your straight stature and robes of perfection

  149. ما أحسن حسان في المدح وأحلى

    ما حسنه فيك محاسن أقوال

    You whom God made before any existence

    Of light of beauty and rays of majesty

  150. يا أكرم من خص بالمديح وجازى

    فضلا بأياد تعم الأول والتال

    You who were and Adam and dust were not

    You who became when between water and clay

  151. ما لابن خلوف سوى مديحك أمن

    يا مأمن من خاف أن يقلد بأغلال

    Who on the Day of Gathering beneath your banner

    Shall convene sheikh and father, prophets and messengers

  152. حاشاك وقد جدت في المنام برحب

    أن اسلب في يقظة ملابس إقبال

    Whom Adam took as intercessor and was pardoned

    Whom you clothed Sheeth in the cloak of grace

  153. أو أن أجد الموت شدة ولساني

    رطبا بمديح نظامه شغل البال

    Idris exalted by your majesty ascended

    Enveloped in dignity and adorned with perfection

  154. أو أن أجد القبر حفرة لعذاب

    وألا من وقاني لأجل مدحك الأهوال

    Through whom Noah attained safety on the ship

    Whom you favored Saleh by righteous deeds

  155. حسبي شرفا أن جعلت مدحك شغلي

    ليلا ونهارا وفي مقام وترحال

    Through whom Hud became mighty among the tribes of Aad

    Through whom Lot battled the abhorrent hordes

  156. فانعم بقبول فأنت أشرف قدرا

    وأمنن بنوال فأنت أكرم مفضال

    Who made for Abraham the cursed fire

    Coolness and peace, and multiplied his graces

  157. ها قد نظم العبد في علاك قصيدا

    من بحر خفيف خزامة عدد الدال

    Who ordained the slaughter’s sacrifice for the immolated ram

    Who made Ishmael chosen in the wilderness

  158. حيكت ببنان الثنا رقيقة غزل

    زينت بلال السنا على أشرف منوال

    Who returned Joseph to Jacob through prayer

    He guaranteed his name, so it was answered swiftly

  159. في شهر جمادي نظمتها لليال

    مرت ببنات الحلى تعسل أقوال

    Who singled out Joseph in the well with beauty

    Without him, events would not be in truth occur

  160. من عام ثمان من الميين تليها

    سبعون يلي أربا بها انتظم القال

    Who bestowed on the Israelite tribes through his guidance blessings

    The abundant good derived from them are branches

  161. تالله وبالله والإله يمينا

    برا قسما جل أن يشاب بإخلال

    Who graced Shuaib thereby wit and pride

    When he empowered Moses for the Madian girl

  162. والصحف والألواح والزبور وما في التوراة

    والإنجيل والكتاب والارسال

    Who aided Moses to battle the Jews, leaving

    Their faces like monkeys and their forms like swine

  163. لو أن مياه الوجود أجمع حبر

    والأرض والأفلاك والسحائب أو كال

    Who clarified for Aaron the traits of the Scripture

    Stopping the sun at zenith for Joshua's blades

  164. والأغصن أقلام والخلائق جمعا

    كتاب مدى الدهر يكتبون بإجمال

    Who prepared for Alexander, whom knowledge made lofty

    Who favored the King of Nations thereby with power

  165. ما ينضبط العشر أو يحرر نزر

    من بعض صفات الحبيب مطمح الآمال

    Who honored Luqman when He gave him in secret life

    Who rescued Job from the severing of limbs

  166. من خصصه الله في الكتاب بمدح

    لا يحصره الوصف في القريض وإن طال

    Who made Elias soar

  167. من نزّهه الله لا يحاط بوصف

    من عظمه الله لا يقاس بأمثال

  168. هل ينحصر النبت والتراب بعد

    هل ينضبط القطر والسحاب بمكيال

  169. هل يحصر في الحرب

    هل تتزّن الأرض والسماء بمثقال

  170. الأمر عظيم وكيف لا بطه

    دار الفلك الأطلس المحيط بالاشكال

  171. يا ذا الجبروت العظيم والملكوت العالي

    شرفا أن يقال أين وما الحال

  172. يا من خلق الأرض والسماء وأبرى

    الأنفاس وأروى من الظما وهدى الضال

  173. ما غيرك أرجو وليس غيرك أخشى

    ما غيرك أدعو وليس غيرك لي كال

  174. فاقبل مدحا صغت في حبيبك وامنن

    بالعفو والإحسان والقبول والإقبال

  175. وأنعم بنعيم لوالدي ومتع

    أشياخي والمسلمين منك بأفضال

  176. واخصص بصلاة ورحمة وسلام

    قبر العلم الشافع المعد للأهوال

  177. واعطف برضاء وجد بسحب صلاة

    للصحب والأتباع والقرابة والآل

  178. ما قال محب وقد جفاه حبيب

    يا سلسلة الرمل من لوالبه الخال

  179. أو طاف مشروق بكعبة وتغنّى

    يا صاحب التاج والمقلد والخال
