1. نَبَّهَ النّائِمَ تَغْرِيدُ الحَمَامْ

    فِي ذُرَى الدَّوْحْ

    The cooing of the dove awoke the slumberer

    In the bosom of the vale,

  2. وَمَحَا مَاءُ الضّيَا حِبْرَ الظَّلاَمْ

    بِيَدِ الصُّبْح

    And the morning light wiped out the ink of darkness

    With the hand of dawn,

  3. وَتَلاَ الزَّهْرُ عَلَى سَمْعِ الكَمَامْ

    سُورَةَ الفَتحْ

    And the flowers recited to the hearing of the buds

    The surah of the opening.
