سَألْتُ مِنْ عَارِضِهِ قُبْلَةً
كَيْ أجْتَني سُقْيَا منَ العَارِضِ
I asked for a kiss from the one who was passing by
So I could quench my thirst from the one who was passing by
فَقَالَ قَدْ صَيَّرْتُهُ عُدَّةً
فَقُلْتُ لاَ يُعْتَدُّ بِالْعَارِضِ
He said he had made it a habit
So I said fleeting things are not to be counted upon
