لَوْ رأى البدرُ وَجْهَهُ الطَّلْقَا
لاَعْتَرَاهُ السُّجُودْ
If the full moon saw his radiant face,
It would prostrate itself before him.
أوْ دَرَى الغَيْثُ جُودَهُ الغَدْقَا
لاَسْتَحَى أن يَجُودْ
Or if rain knew his abundant generosity,
It would be shy to pour down.
فَاقَ خَلْقاً وَقَدْ حوى خُلْقاً
قَارنته السعُودْ
He surpassed all creation, yet embraced it,
Attaining the heights of glory.
