1. عليك توكّلي ولك افتقاري

    ومنك تطليبي وبك انتصاري

    You are my reliance, to You my need

    From You my request, in You my triumph

  2. وفيك محبتي وإليك أمري

    وهل إلاك قصدي واختباري

    In You is my love, to You my matter

    Is there any but You my aim and my trial?

  3. أيا ملك الملوك ولا مليك

    سوى عبد ببابك خذ بثاري

    O King of kings, none but a servant at Your door

    Take my revenge, O Judge on Judgment Day

  4. ويل ديان يوم الدين سهل

    طريق هدايتي وأقل عثاري

    Make easy my guidance, lessen my burden

    O Creator of creation, pave my positions of acceptance and establish my minarets

  5. ويا باري الورى طرا أنلني

    مقامات الرضى وأقم مناري

    O God, prepare me for good

    And deal with me gently as is Your flowing bounty

  6. ويا الله هبئني لخير

    وعاملني بلطف منك جاري

    O Relenter, O Giver, grace me with success

    For my patience has failed

  7. ويا تواب يا وهاب وفق

    فقد خط المشيب دجى عذاري

    It suffices me that I have raised to the Rich

    With my words of pleading and destitution

  8. ويا غفار يا ستار من لي

    بعفوك حين لا يغني اعتذاري

    It suffices me that I have reached the door of Might

    With humility, confession, and falling short

  9. ويا ذا الجود والجبروت جد لي

    بما أرجوه من جبر انكساري

    In the cosmos, who but You is hoped for

    To remove harm or veil disgrace?

  10. ويا ذا المن والرحموت قابل

    برحماك اغترابي واغتراري

    Who but You is the Sovereign called upon

    To quench thirst and heal the stricken?

  11. ويا عون المقل أجب دعائي

    فإني قد دعوتك باضطراري

    No, by God, none but You has authority

    Entreated by elders and youngsters alike

  12. ويا رباه ويا غوثاه عجل

    بتوفيق قد عجز اصطباري

    No, by God, in the cosmos is any Lord

    But You, who sees and knows my secrets

  13. فحسبي أن رفعت على غنيّ

    بمقالات أطراحي وافتقاري

    So fulfill my good expectation, if my supposition

    Grants me that You are All Powerful

  14. ويكفي إن وصلت لباب عزّ

    بذلّ واعتراف واقتصار

    And crown me with the crown of knowledge, and make

    The garb of righteousness and piety my emblem

  15. أفي الأكوان غيرك من يرجى

    لكشف الضر أو ستر العواري

    And enlighten me with faith and prosperity

    And allow me the Hajj and sacred rites

  16. أثم سواك سلطان فيدعى

    لإرواء الظمأ وشفا الأواري

    And from the meadow of the Guide, the Expected

    For attaining success in the Abode of Eternity

  17. فلا والله ليس سواك مولى

    يرجيه الكبار مع الصغار

    Leader of Bani Luway, pillar of Bani Nazar

    Beloved of Truth, best of creation, Taha

  18. ولا والله في الأكوان رب

    سواك يرى ويعلم ما أواري

    Cloud of Messengers, knower of havens

    Crescent of cosmos, lamp of its night

  19. فحقق حسن ظني إن ظني

    يحقق لي بأنك ذو اقتدار

    Dawn of horizons, sun of brilliant morning

    Gardens of security, key to sublime ranks

  20. وتوجني بتاج العلم واجعل

    لباس البر والتقوى شعاري

    Cloud of munificence, treasure of gifting

    Vanquisher of adversity, pourer of boons

  21. ونورني بإيمان ويمن

    ومتعني بحج واعتماري

    Destination of homelands, fruitful pilgrim

    Noble spirit, thanked for his efforts

  22. ومن بزورة الهادي المرجى

    لنيل الفوز في دار القرار

    Pure branch, praised carpenter

    Messenger who came with Book of Truth

  23. عصام قصي فخر بني لوي

    عماد معد كهف بني نزار

    Saving us therewith after enslavement

    And told of unseen that none can know

  24. حبيب الحق خير الخلق طه

    غمام الرسل دري الدراري

    Until he knew it, every house

    Crowned with beauty and splendor for what

  25. هلال الكون مصباح الدياجي

    صباح الأفق شمس ضحى النهار

    He was clad in majesty and dignity

    He stood on the minaret of glory, calling

  26. رياض الأمن مفتاح المعالي

    غمام الجود كنز الإدخار

    With signs of light, pure gold

    And established religion when the pagan

  27. مزيل المحل هطال الأيادي

    خصيب الرحل مقصود الديار

    Colonnade collapsed, its walls fragmented

    And revived the nation of Islam after

  28. شريف النفس مشكور المساعي

    زكي الفرع محمود النجار

    Its rites were restored post decay

    Its sun became clear again after eclipse

  29. رسول جاءنا بكتاب حق

    فأنقذنا به بعد الإسار

    Its full moon rose again after darkness

    He humbled Chosroes’ empire after its pride

  30. وأنبأ عن غيوب ليس تدرى

    إلى أن قد دراها كل داري

    And weakened Persia’s abode with desolation

    Extinguished their fire after it raged

  31. تتوج بالحسن والبها لما

    تسربل بالجلالة والوقار

    Dried up their water after it flowed

    The trunk inclined toward him from his dawning

  32. أقام على منار العز يدعو

    بآيات الندى وظبا الفخار

    As the stranger yearns for homelands

    The cloud timed itself to shade his harsh heat

  33. وشاد الدين إذ تركت ظباه

    رواق الكفر منقض الجدار

    Bringing abundant rains

    The moon split itself for his sake

  34. وأحبا ملة الإسلام لما

    أقام رسومها بعد الدمار

    As did the sun of the day

    The gazelle called him: “Save me

  35. وأوضح شمسها من بعد كسف

    وأطلع بدرها بعد السرار

    So I may fulfill the rights of little ones”

    So he released her and she turned back

  36. وذلل ملك كسرى بعد عز

    وأوهى دار فارس بالبوار

    To graze near her Lord, due to neighborhood

    The camel took refuge, saying “we believe”

  37. وأخمد نارهم بعد اشتعال

    وغور ماءهم بعد انجار

    And submitted to his order after fleeing

    Al-Walid spoke to him words of truth

  38. وحسن الجذع من شروق إليه

    كما حن الغريب إلى الديار

    And his saying proved true, ignoring waste

    His arm informed him of his name when

  39. ووقته الغمامة حر قيظ

    وجاءته بأمياه غزار

    Zainab kindled the fire of parting

    In his hand, the staff turned into a sword

  40. وشق لأجله بدر الدياجي

    كما ردت له شمس النهار

    With it, the flood became coursing

    The flint therein glorified with confession

  41. ونادته الغزالة أن أجرني

    لأقضي حق أولاد صغار

    The wood flourished, becoming verdant

    The cave received his command however

  42. فأطلقها فولت ثم عادت

    لترفي ربها حق الجوار

    A wonder for the consulting sage

    Suraqah's eyesight melted when

  43. ولاذ به البعير فقال آمنا

    ودان لأمره بعد النفار

    The All Powerful wished to appear

    His mother saw the signs of prophecy

  44. وخاطبه الوليد خطاب حق

    وصدق قوله ضب القفار

    When Mukhhul Asshar examined him

    The saliva of his mouth healed Ali's eyes

  45. وأنباه الذراع بسمه إذ

    أثارت زينب نار الشنار

    With the knowledge of an adept guide in waste

    Thus did Ibn Al-Akwa and then

  46. وفي يده العصا انقلبت حساما

    ومنها أصبح الطوفان جاري

    The foot of the valiant Ibn Utayk after being broken

    The right hand of Mu'adh was restored when

  47. وفيها الصلد سبح باعتراف

    وجدل العود أينع باخضرار

    It was cut off, as if it were the left

    Khabbab's abdomen was ripped, then mended

  48. وأمر الغار فيه أيّ أمر

    عجاب للبيب المستشار

    By his touch, how many harms were remedied!

    How often did his prayer enrich a poor one

  49. وطرف سراقة قد ساخ لما

    أراد ظهوره ذو الإقتدار

    As it saved from the heat of flame

    His handfuls of dates fed his army

  50. وعاينت أمّه أعلام بصرى

    وقد وضعته مكحول الشفار

    Though they were war steeds when loosed

    He felled a ewe and it gushed milk for him

  51. وعين قتادة قد رد لما

    أسالتها يد النقع المثار

    Never before flowing without lambing

    The hatred of enemies dimmed his light

  52. وأبرى ريقه عيني عليّ

    بخبير يوم جدل بالقفار

    Though the fires of war blazed

    Yet those who feared him felt safe the day of Opening

  53. كذا ساق ابن الأكواع ثم

    رجل الفتى ابن عتيك من بعد انكسار

    While the sword of victory sharpened its blades

    To the extent fame is a heritage continued

  54. ورد يمين معوذ حين قدت

    فردت بعد قطع كاليسار

    Through the preservation of leaders from leaders

    Where glory is exalted, towering peaks

  55. وشق خبيب أيرأه بمسح

    وكم عافى بنفث من ضرار

    And sublime glory an unsheathed sword

    Matters of pride with which spears blossom

  56. وكم أغنى بدعوته فقيراً

    كما أغنى بها من حد نار

    Met by resolute swords unsheathed

    A courser that protected Ali's glory

  57. وأشبع جيشه بصواع تمر

    وكانوا كالجواد لدى انتشار

    Though he refused to protect wealth or realty

    A full moon that rendered the valiant a horizon

  58. وصرع الشاة درّ له حليبا

    وقبل اللمس لم يك قط جاري

    His arrows therein being piercing stars

    For him are the excellent steeds, when

  59. وأطفأ نوره حقد الأعادي

    ونار الحرب مضرمة الشوار

    The pagans' horses retreat in flight

    Arrows unleashed like flaming sparks

  60. وأمن خائفيه يوم فتح

    وسيف النصر مشحوذ العواري

    That amaze lightning and celestial bodies

    Or galloping seas in violent waves

  61. بحيث المجد ميراث تواصت

    به حفظا كبار عن كبار

    Or blond ones interlaced with blossoms

    So Ashhab dressed the meadow in garb

  62. وحيث فخار مسنون العوالي

    وسيل فخار مصقول الشفار

    And adorned it with the lights of flame

    And Adham bowed before the torrents

  63. مفاخر للرماح بها ازدهار

    يقابلها المهند بافترار

    Therein, where he traversed the heat of day

    And Ashqar, whenever he set forth, his shoulders

  64. جواد صان عليا المجد لكن

    أبى عن صون مال أو عقار

    Were clad in fires taken by force

    They reached the utmost peak of men of truth

  65. وبدر صير الهيجاء أفقا

    نجوم سهامه فيها دراري

    For them is the act of the wild beasts

    They kindled valiance though it raged like fire

  66. له الخيل السوابق إذ تداعت

    خيول الملحدين إلى الفرار

    Its smoke being only dust

    When they ignited flashes, the heads of foes

  67. من الشهب المسومة اللواتي

    يفتن البرق والشهب الجواري

    Were like scattering embers

    If they brandished slender bayonets, the appointed spans

  68. أو الدهم الروافل في لجين

    أو الشقر المشابة بالنضار

    Of their enemies became short

    If their tongues smiled, the eyes of enemies' wounds

  69. فأشهب قد كساه الروض ثوبا

    ووشّاهُ بأنوار النوار

    Wept with intense sobbing

    Whenever they showed the face of war

  70. وأدهم قبل الدريّ منه

    جبينا حيث خاض حشا النهار

    They drove away with spearheads wild donkeys

    Tribes of ferocity and folk of courage

  71. وأشقر ما انبرى إلا وجالت

    على عطفيه نيران استعار

    And a band of glories and towering pride

    The nights were darkened due to them, after supposition

  72. تسنم منتهى فتيان صدق

    لهم فعل الضرغمة الضواري

    And their secret exposed after concealment

    They see death pursuing glories

  73. بنوا الهيجاء وهي تشب نارا

    وليس دخانها إلا الغبار

    Sweeter than life alongside the lowly

    A guide guided them to fortune—one who guides

  74. إذا ما ألهبوا البيض استطارت

    رؤوس عداتهم مثل الشرار

    To determined goal, lofty minaret

    And led them to guidance after blindness

  75. وإن هزّوا طوال السمر جاءت

    أعاديهم بآجال قصار

    And honored guarding them after destitution

    So one steeped in passion proclaimed submission

  76. وإن ضحكت أسنتهم تباكت

    عيون جراح أعضاء المباري

    And one of aversion openly surrendered

    They are aid for one seeking refuge and flowers

  77. وإن أبدوا لمعنى الحرب وجها

    أزاحوا بالظبا شبه المماري

    For one plucking, flowers for a bee

    They are rain for loyalists, and loyalists themselves

  78. قبائل صولة وشعوب بأس

    ورهط مكارم وعلا افتخار

    And wrath for schemers and dispossessed

    Leader of Leaders, river of donors

  79. سخت بهم الليالي بعد ظن

    وافشت سرهم بعد استتار

    Most noble one sought, extended hand

    Majesties neighbor him when he rises

  80. يرون الموت في طلب المعالي

    ألذ من الحياة مع الصغار

    So those at his summit obtain bounty ever-flowing

    He is forebearing, pardoning heedless ones

  81. هداهم للسعادة منه هاد

    حديد المنتضى عالي المنار

    No forbearance but of the All Powerful

    We have quenched our thirst for guidance from his protection

  82. وقادهم لرشد بعد غي

    وعز حماهم بعد افتقار

    Pleased, too lofty for sipping realty

    We desired the meadow of his nation, so we reveled

  83. فصرح باعتراف ذو شجون

    وأعلن بانقياد ذو نفار

    In a fragrance surpassing aromatics

    We sniffed the horizon of his Sunna, finding

  84. فهم غوث لمنتجع وزهر

    لمنتشق وهم زهر لساري

    Flashes of might in clouds of sandstorms

    Leader of humanity without peer

  85. وهم غيث الموالي والموالي

    وهم غيظ المراجي والمجاري

    And unique noble without rival

    O sun of sovereignty without setting

  86. إمام أئمة الثقلين طرا

    وأكرم مستماح مستماري

    O full moon of bliss without darkness

    Is not the summit of glory made

  87. تجاوره المعالي حيث يغدو

    فتظفر من علاه بخير جاري

    For your meteors to orbit?

    Does not the news agree that pilgrimage

  88. ويحلم قادرا عن غي جان

    ولا حلم سوى من ذي اقتدار

    Is to your meadow, flourishing with visitors?

    I wish I could split open the land for you

  89. رشفنا للهداية من حماه

    رضابا جل عن رشف العقار

    And oceans plunge their depths

    I wish to race with the wind in yearning

  90. ورضنا روض ملته فطبنا

    بعرف فاق معطار البهار

    And fly with the birds in flight

    To witness the meadow that contained sublimities

  91. وشمنا أفق سنته فشمنا

    بروق العز في سحب الفخار

    For it deserves to captivate minds

    And kiss the earth holding bones

  92. أيا جمع الأنام بلا شبه

    ويا فرد الكرام بلا مجاري

    Whose worth transcended the prideful

    And sip from cups of success a spirit

  93. ويا شمس السعود بلا غروب

    ويا بدر السرور بلا سرار

    Cooling the souls aflame

    And fulfill each obligation in its sanctuary

  94. أليس بأن أوج المجد أمسى

    لشهب سناك كالفلك المدار

    Circling, pacing, and performing sacred rites

    And cast upon its sands, from my tear

  95. وأن الخبر أجمع في مزار

    لروض علاك فأنعم بالمزار

    Rocks never matched by pebbles

    And let my anthem therein be praise

  96. بودّي لو شققت لك الفيافي

    وخضت إليك أفئدة البحار

    Making my hope its motto

    Guiding my steed by oath it called them

  97. وسرت على ذرى الريح اعتجالا

    وصرت على الطائر في مطار

    To their homelands, Caller to Rest

    Crossing the lands on a moonless night

  98. لأشهد روضة حوت المعالي

    فحق لها بأن تسبي الدراري

    Whose stars slumber from every watcher

    Wandering in the halo of travel wisely

  99. وألثم تربة ضمت عظاما

    تعاظم قدرها عن ذي افتخار

    Like the gait of an ostrich in robes of dignity

    Draped in the gown of wandering when

  100. وأرشف من كؤوس الفوز راحا

    ببرد روحها حر الأواري

    My left took the reins from the Influencer

    A mount leaping like an arrow

  101. وأقضي في حماها كل حج

    بتطواف وسعي واعتمار

    When it dashes, straight without veering

    Yearning for homelands, enraptured, in longing

  102. وأرمي ف ذراها من دموعي

    جمارا لا تقايس بالجمار

    For those milestones and dwelling

    Never are its cheeks spared kisses

  103. وأجعل مشعري فيها مديحا

    يصيّر ما أرجيه شعاري

    Nor are pastures deprived of its herd

    And if it reaches the terminus, exerting effort

  104. يمينا بالمطي وقد دعاها

    إلى أوطانها داعي القرار

    To the beloved’s land on the ridge

    I would ready a wise batch,

  105. تجوب البيد في ليل بهيم

    تناعس نجمه عن كل ساري

    Their gear upon obedience and sound choice

    I would unleash the excellent racers

  106. تهادى في حلى التسيار هديا

    كهدي الغيد في حلل الوقار

    Traversing the wastes with their cheeks

    Sending them in relay until

  107. وترفل في رداء التيه لما

    قلت بيد السرى قود السحاري

    I gesture a greeting to Bani Nizarr

    There my eyes would delight to see them

  108. مطايا كالقسي رمت سهاما

    بخطو حين عن عوج العثار

    Enjoying life in the most blissful halting place

    I would prohibit them then from traversing

  109. تحن إلى الفلا طربا وشوقا

    إلى تلك المعالم والديار

    The wilderness and wastes

    O Greatest of Mankind, may you listen

  110. فما تلوي أخادعها لورد

    ولا يخلو لها مرعى الضمار

    To praise from one professing need

    Could I ever return to your sanctuary

  111. وإن تبلغ المسعى وتسعى

    إلى ربع الحبيب على الشفار

    That I may take refuge in your all-sheltering grace?

    I found your earth a gentle meadow

  112. وأولي ثانيا قسما صدوقا

    على وفق اختبارٍ واختيار

    And picked from its ripened fruits

    I enjoyed its yields, so I began to harvest

  113. لأقتعدن أسنمة المهارى

    أشق بوخدها شقق القفار

    Branches—praising you exuberantly

    So I composed praises from one steadfast

  114. وأرسلها بأرقال إلى أن

    أنوّحها بحي بني نزار

    On a cliff of burning passions

    My tongue has free rein in praising you

  115. هناك تقر عيني أن تراها

    تلذ العيش في أهنى قرار

    And my praises of your sublimity are concise

    You are greater than any praised

  116. وحينئذ أصيرها حراما

    على شق الفيافي والقفار

    In composition or scattering of poetry

    But I praised you only to extinguish

  117. فيا خير الأنام عساك تصغي

    لمدح جاء يدلي بافتقار

    Torment of grave or searing of flame

    For I do not see anyone but You as recourse

  118. وهل لي عودة لحماك كيما

    ألوذ بجاهك الحامي الذمار

    Nor anyone but You to depend upon

    So grace me, O Expected, with intercession

  119. وجدت ذراك لي روضا أريضا

    فقمت به على قطف الثمار

    To avert any blow or take my revenge

    It is unthinkable that I lose hope; I have a neighbor

  120. ولذ جناه لي فطفقت أجني

    لديه غصون مدحك باهتصاري

    Who gives me good tidings of your upholding pact

    I have love, reverence, and praise

  121. فدونكها مدائح من مقيم

    على جرف من الأشواق هاري

    With which I profess destitution

    O Mighty, You know my neediness

  122. لساني في مديحك ذو انطلاق

    ومدحي في علاك ذو اقتصار

    O Loving, O Blesser, facilitate

    My affairs and protect me from evil of heat

  123. وأنت أجل من يثنى عليه

    بنظم في المدائح أو نثار

    Pardon my parents and delight in safety

    For my elderly shaykh and guardian carpenter

  124. ولكني مدحتك كي أوقّ

    عذاب القبر أو إحراق نار

    And be kind to Muslims, be bountiful in prosperity

    For my shaykhs, my pride

  125. فلست إلى سواك أرى استناداً

    ولست على سواكَ أرى اقتصاري

    And perpetuate the rule of Your servant, the Best Ruler

    My father Umar and the striving Leader

  126. فجدلي بالشفاعة يا مرجى

    لدفع ملمّة أو أخذ ثاري

    And aid him with might and victory

    And sound guidance, openings and triumph

  127. وحاشا أن أخيب ولي جوار

    يبشرني بحفظك للجوار

    And bless Your servant Al-Mansur and support

    His efforts with Your kindness ever-flowing

  128. ولي حب وتسمية ومدح

    بهم أدلي على شحط المزار

    And facilitate for him to allow me the Hajj

    And grant me bliss with no rivals

  129. فيا الله يا جواد حسبي

    من التسآل علمك بافتقاري

    Send Your blessings upon Your Prophet—blessings however many

    Were stirred by the warbling of the dove

  130. ويا حنان يا منان يسر

    أموري واكفني شر الشنار

    And deliver to his family the purest prayers

    Continually innovated and combined

  131. وسامح والدي وعج بأمن

    على شيخي الغرا وصني النجار

    And reward his companions with utmost good however lengthy

    Were the paths beneath the darkness lit by the traveling night

  132. وكن للمسلمين وجد بيمن

    لأشياخي الذين بهم فخاري

  133. وخلد ملك عبدك خير وال

    أبي عمر والإمام المستماري

  134. وايده بعز واقتدار

    وتسديد وفتح وانتصار

  135. ووفق عبدك المسعود واعضد

    مساعيه بلطف منك جاري

  136. وسخره ليسمح لي بحج

    ويوليني السرور بلا غيار

  137. وصل على نبيك ما تثنت

    غصون هاجها صوت الهزار

  138. وبلغ آله أزكى صلاة

    تواصل في رواح وابتكار

  139. وجاز الصحب خيرا ما استطالت

    على زنج الدجى نبط النهار
