Every day I see wonders
Turning my hair gray
And from calamities that ache my heart
I grew old but did not grow wise
I see what I hate whenever
My eyes wish to see my beloved
What is with me, o people, and the nights
That prod my crosswood cane
Taking me away from safe shores
I wanted to ride it alone
Without excusing its staircase, so what is it
That makes wars between us grow gray
And whenever sins against me fade
They renew them with sins
As if I had erred in something
I have only, with it, hit the target
