I distance myself from the love of beauties whenever
I'm convinced that love is humiliation for its beholder,
And my eyes weren't deceived by the light of its glitter,
Nor was my land watered with the rain of its clouds.
And my journey through the expanses of plain, startling
On the shore of regions, confused with its rider.
I admit to my eye the embrace of an affectionate one
I spent the blackness of night amongst its wreaths.
And when the days let me taste the sips of its sips
I drank a drink with no pleasure for its drinker.
So do not ask me for salvation, for I
Go and return in the captivity of its wonders.
