O daughter of the living, what is mine and what is yours

And what is this that comes to my mind because of you

You left while you are my concern as we are neighbors

And our house became desolate from your homes

So we do not meet except in the intoxication of wine

    In every sociable night gathering

Dawn separates what is between us

And the blossoms of the stars bring us together

And this generosity was not in your nature

Nor was union ever a flaw among your flaws

So how did we meet while the distance between us

And how did we occur to each other from afar in your mind

You had, when they made us doubt through gossip

    Despaired us of your union

So there did not remain in our faith, after what faded,

A tie of the allegiances, not even a rope of your ropes

And a night when we spent without a sandy hill

You walked to us, after effort, in your fatigue

And it would not suit one who inhabits the sand, coveting

While you are in the valley road during your visits

And when you rode the sand, you were in fact

Without guidance, were it not for the light of your beauty

Visiting those who spent all night long

On tall camels, long is their necks

When they disappear confused on the land

And do not light a fire with flint stones in darkness

Greetings to the valley whose people appeared

Clearly on the red dye of the mounted she-camel

In it are women full of beauty

Sheltering with the resolve of the calm, composed ascetic

Who leaves me joined, spent, and attained

And his position in the heart is not one who leaves me

If he frolics one day or smiles at dusk

It is from a soft, pure pearl smile

He refuses amusement until only the branches of musk perfume

    Sway him during estrangement

And when they called to leave suddenly

You did not want between the living one who perishes

And from one complaining of separation and blaming

And from one who takes what he seeks and leaves

They left after they broke the hearts and entrusted

Our eyes with shedding pouring tears

An evening when their traveling bags were packed on their camels

Like the fawns of ostriches roaming at night

They tell everyone who saw the cleavage of youthfulness

    Perfectly matching their swollen breasts

Beware, they are people who, when they were wronged, sought

And closed the paths to beauty from my paths

They gave us their harm, then saddled

Hearts for them, filled with sorrows

You see the scar on their faces

While between the ribs of the people are all battles

I do not blame them except for their resolves

And I forgive them after injury, upon injury

And I utter bad words about them

With a slope of breaths of conversations

And I conceal from them the side of blame, keeping

For their extraordinary one who disputed that

    If Allah gave you guidance

You would want - alas I am among the perished

So who among you have you prepared for your adversaries

If you stand in the tricky, slippery situation

And who will get vengeance, forgiving your palms

And make your days victorious with kingdoms

And whose words in the day of disputation among you

Will acquit the stubborn, argumentative adversary

And who will defend the days from your skulls

While they are handleable to grab the perils

I saw you - you do not recommend to your neighbor

Of good except with the weakest, mild recommendation

He sleeps miserable in misery while you

    Are slumbering, crouching atop furniture

And he wakes up either his money is wrapped

To pay you or his shoulder being informed of the death pang

That which makes you circumspect is by giving

As if he is pouring rain of cheerful palms

Indeed! Do I see in the land of Babylon a breastplate

To advance with sharp, thin radiant swords

And will I tread the Euphrates river by a tribe

Without thirst, upset by the stars

The reeds rustle from their stabbing

In their pits, the clamor of the horses for the blessed

And am I in the abyss of the earth, afraid

Fending off the tips of the raid for the climbers

So who do I have for the attainment of glory and sublimity

And despite the enemies with the participating friend
