لا أَحَسُدُ المَرءَ عَلى ضَيعَةٍ

وَلا عَلى دارٍ وَلا كَنزِ

I do not envy a man his estate

Nor his house, nor his treasure chest.

وَإِنَّما أَحسِدُ مَن كُلُّهُ

لِلَهِ لا لِلَهوِ وَالطَنزِ

But I envy he who belongs wholly

To God, not to vain pursuits or jest.
