1. ما صارَ لِلقَطرِ اِنسِكابُ

    إِلّا وَلِلبَرقِ التِهابُ

    No rain ever fell

    But lightning flared and blazed.

  2. فَاِستَجلِ أَغصاناً لَها

    في كُلِّ أَنمُلَةٍ خِضابُ

    So pluck the boughs before the storm

    That every fingertip be stained.

  3. لا سِيَّما وَمُدامُنا

    بَكرٌ قَلائِدَها الحَبابُ

    Our wine is still unopened;

    Its seals are yet unloosed.

  4. فَاِجنِ السُرورَ بِشُربِها

    ما دامَ يُنبِتُهُ الشَبابُ

    So drink your joy while youth endures

    And growth still crowns the branch.
