حَلَلتَ كِتافي يا أَخي وَهوَ موثِقُ
وَنَفَّستَ عَنّي ما بِهِ كُنتُ أُخنَقُ
You untied my shoulders though fettered, my brother,
And eased what choked me within and without;
وَأَمطَرتَني مِن سُحبِ جودِكَ نائِلاً
غَدا مِنه أَمري وَهوَ رَيّانٌ مونِقُ
You rained on me from the clouds of your bounty,
Till in the morn my case is clear and bright;
فَجيدِيَ بِالنَعماءِ مِنكَ مُقَلَّدٌ
وَجيدُكَ بِالإِطراءِ مِنّي مُطَوَّقُ
So around my neck your favors are knotted,
And my praise as necklace encircles your throat.
