ما قيمَةُ السُكرِ عِندي ما أُكابِدُهُ

مِنَ الخُمارِ إِذا أَصبَحتُ مَخمورا

What value is sugar to me, what I endure

Of headaches when I wake up hungover

إِن دامَ ذا مِنهُ خَلَّيتُ المُدامَ وَلا

أَضحى حَزيناً إِذا أَمسَيتُ مَسرورا

If this keeps up I will give up wine though

I won't become sad when I feel cheer
