1. لَنا العَطايا الَّتي قُدَّت أَزِمَّتُها

    مِنَ المَكارِمِ وَالتَعجيلُ سائِقُها

    We have gifts which their knots were tied

    With generosity, and their guide is haste,

  2. وَنَحنُ إِن نُصِبَت شِطرَنجُ مَعرَكَةٍ

    رِخاخُها وَأَعادينا بَياذُقُها

    And if the chessboard of battle was set up against us

    Its drizzle and our enemies are itsawns,

  3. قَومٌ نُجومٌ عَطاياهُم مَغارِبُها

    أَيدي العُفاةِ وَأَيديهِم مَشارِقُها

    A people whose gifts are their sunsets

    In the hands of the chaste, and their hands are its dawns.
