إِنّا لأَهلُ تُقىً وَأَهلُ عَفافِ

وَجَلالَةٍ جَلَّت عَنِ الأَوصافِ

We are the people of piety and chastity,

Of majesty transcending all description.

قَومٌ عَلَت عَلَياؤُهُم بِمُحَمَّدٍ

وَأَنافَ مَجدُهُم بِعَبدِ مَنافِ

Our nobility was exalted by Muhammad,

Our glory dignified by the servant of Manaf.

مِن كُلِّ مَن تَمَسّى سَماءُ حَبائِهِ

مَحفوفَةً بِكَواكِبِ الأَضيافِ

Of all who cling to the heavens of his love,

Surrounded by the stars of hospitality.

لَم يَجرِ قَط إِلَيكَ مِن أَلفاظِهِ

إِلّا أَغَرُّ مُحَجَّلُ الأَطرافِ

No word of his was ever carried to you

Except the sweetest and most eloquent speech.
