1. وَمُستَطيلٍ مِن بَني الكُتّابِ

    قَد ضَلَّ عَن مَسالِكِ الآدابِ

    A pretentious writer whose ways are corrupt,

    Though proud of his work, to good manners abrupt;

  2. وَهوَ عَلى ما فيهِ مِن إِعجابِ

    أَشَدُّ تَطفيلاً مِنَ الذُبابِ

    More bothersome he than a fly in one's soup,

    This pest of a man with his self-granted troupe.
