1. كَأَنَّما سُرجُ قَناديلِها

    مِن بَهِجٍ مِنها وَمِن أَزهَرِ

    Her lanterns' trappings seem to be

    Of her radiance and her blossoms,

  2. لَينوفَرٌ مِن ذَهَبٍ أَصفَرٍ

    في بِرَكٍ مِن ذَهَبٍ أَحمَرِ

    A smooth-running brook of yellow gold

    In a valley of red gold,

  3. يَعثُرُ مِنها الطَرفَ في مَشيِهِ

    بِجَوهَرٍ رُكِّبَ في جَوهَرِ

    So that the glance trips over it

    In a jeweled pavement set.

  4. كَأَنَّها إِذ لَمَعَت في الدُجى

    تُريكَ كافوراً عَلى عَنبَرِ

    When she shone forth in the gloom,

    It showed you camphor upon ambergris.
