يَومٌ مِنَ الأَيّام لَيسَ بِدونِ
ما فيهِ غَيرَ خَلاعَةٍ وَمُجونِ
One day of days is not without
In it nothing but letting loose and carefree joy
فَاِسقِ اِبنَةَ العُنقودِ مِنّي ظامِئاً
ما إِن يَعوجُ عَلى اِبنَةِ جونِ
So give the daughter of the grape cluster from me, thirsty
As soon as it inclines toward the darling daughter
فَالأَرضُ قَد لَبِسَت مِن نَبتِها
فَرشاً مَراتِبُهُ أَبو قَلَمونِ
For the earth has worn from her plants
