1. يا ذا الَّذي مَنَّ بِلا مَنِّ

    أَضَفتَ إِحساناً إِلى حُسنِ

    O you who granted favor without favor,

    You added kindness to kindness,

  2. وَجُدتَ بِالرَيِّ وَلَولاكَ ما

    عادَ إِلى إِبراقِهِ غُصني

    You gave drink though without you my branch

    Would not have returned to its brilliance.

  3. فَما عَساني أَن أُرى قائِلاً

    فيكَ وَأَنتَ الدُرُّ في القَطنِ

    How could I conceive one speaking ill of you

    When you are the pearl ensconced in its oyster?
