وَشَقائِقٍ كَخُدودِ رَب
باتِ الخُدورِ تَلَهُّبا
With poppies like the cheeks of its Lord
The mornings blaze in ardor.
لاحَ الصَباحُ فَما اِنتِظا
رُكَ بِالصَبوحِ عَلى الرُبى
Dawn broke, so cease delay;
Travel at dawn upon the meadows,
مَعَ شادِنٍ رَقَّت حَوا
شي خُلقِهِ رَطبُ الصِبا
With a companion whose nature is moist with youth,
Whose character is imbued with freshness.
فَاِشرَب عَلى دُرٍّ عَلى
فَيروزَجٍ قَد أَذهِبا
So drink from a goblet, from one
Of turquoise that makes away with cares.
لا تُكرِهَنَّ عَلى اللَذا
ذَةِ وَالخَلاعَةِ مَن أَبى
Do not force upon me sensual delights
And dissoluteness when I refuse.
