1. الزَهرُ مَطوِيٌّ وَمَنشورُ

    وَالقَطرُ مَنظومٌ وَمَنثورُ

    The flowers folded and unfolded

    The drops rhymed and unrhymed

  2. فَاِستَجلِ نِسريناً لنا مِنهُ في

    مَخازِنِ الأَغصانِ كافورُ

    So uncork some wine for us from the

    Jasmine in the branches' cellars

  3. وَالوَردُ إِن كانَ عَقيقاً عَلى

    زَبَرجَدٍ فَالماءُ بِلَّورُ

    If the roses be rubies on

    Emerald then the water crystal

  4. فَهاتِها بَكراً عَلى جيدِها

    طَوقٌ مِنَ الفَضَّةِ مَزرورُ

    Bring them virginal round her neck

    A torque of chased silver curled

  5. فَالجَوُّ قَد أَصبَحَ خُلدِيُّهُ

    بِطانَةً وَالغَيمُ سَمّورُ

    For the air is become its paradise
