بَديعُ الجَمالِ رَخيمُ الدَلالِ

صَوارِمُ أَلحاظِهِ مُرهَفَه

The exquisite in beauty, graceful in coquetry,

With glances like swords unsheathed,

كَأَنَّ ثَناياهُ نَورُ الأَقاحِ

تَفَتّحَ في وَردَةٍ مُضعَفَه

As though the folds of his eyelids were

The dawning light blooming in a rose.
