    يَرتَعُ فيهِ الرَجاءُ وَالأَمَلُ

    We are a people whose stream overflows

    Where hope and aspiration graze

  2. كُلُّ فَتىً لَيسَ في مَوَدَّتِهِ

    مَذقٌ وَلا في خِلالِهِ خَلَلُ

    Every youth whose affection lacks

    No sweetness or flaw in his ways

  3. لَو أَبصَرَ البَحرُ فَيضُ أَنمُلِهِ

    فاضَ عَلى وَجهِ فَيضِهِ الخَجَلُ

    Were the sea to see his fingers' flood

    Bashfully its tide would blaze
