الزَهرُ مُعلَمُ نَدٍّ
مِنَ الرُبى في تُخوتِ
The flower is a soft dew's guide,
Of varied hues in bouquets tied;
مِن أَصفَرٍ صَندَلِيٍّ
وَأَحمَرٍ ياقوتي
Of saffron yellow, ruby red,
So sip the potion it has shed.
فَاِشرَب عَلَيهِ عَقارا
كَالعَنبَرِ المَفتوتِ
Like melted amber is its power,
That in a little passing hour,
فَشَملُهُ عَن قَليلِ
يَفضي إِلى تَشتيتِ
Pervades, and then begins to reach,
The mind, and thought in chaos breach.
