1. قَد حانَ أَن نَطرِقَ الحاناتِ في السَحَرِ

    وَنَأَخُذُ الشَمسَ فيها مِن يَدِ القَمَرِ

    The time has come for us to roam the taverns at dawn

    And take the sun from the moon’s hand within them

  2. بَكرٌ تَطوفُ بِها بَكَرٌ مُزَنَّرَةٌ

    أَسيافُ أَلحاظِها أَمضى مِنَ القَدَرِ

    At daybreak, maidens circle around

    Whose glances’ swords are sharper than destiny

  3. حَتّى إِذا مَزَجَتها في زُجاجَتِها

    كانَت كَياقوتَةٍ تَفتَرُّ عَن دُرَرِ

    Until when she has mixed it in her bottle

    It becomes a ruby that sheds its pearls
