The breeze whispers gently like my beloved

As I enjoy its drink in the monastery bell tower

It sounds sweeter to my ear

    Than rhythmic beats and clamor

O finest wine of the vine's bounty

Matching my spirit in its nobility

    When decanted, its bubbles appear

Like a necklace of stars around the sun's neck

Abu Ahmad is a stingy man

    Of despicable, shameful character

When the peddlers of sodomy arrive

They seek to buy him for a nickel

    He abandoned bargaining and haggling

And sold himself for a penny
