أَصبَحَ لا يَخشى مِنَ الذَمِّ

لَمّا اِكتَفى بِالنائِلِ الشَهمِ

He has become unafraid of blame

When he was content with the generous soul

خِلٌّ إِذا اِستَنجَدَ خِلٌّ بِهِ

يَوماً مِنَ الدَهرِ عَلى العُدمِ

A friend, when a friend seeks his help

One day of fate over annihilation

غَزاهُ مِن تِلكَ العَطايا الَّتي

يَحشُدُها في الطَمِّ وَالرَمِّ

He was endowed with those gifts

That he amasses in adversity and ease
