أَنا في لُجَّةِ الغَرامِ غَريقٌ

لَستُ مِنها بِطامِعٍ في خَلاصِ

I am drowning in the depths of passion

I have no hope to be saved from it

فَاِرجِعا بِالمَلامِ لا تُبلياهُ

لي فَشُؤمي مُثَقَّلٌ بِالرَصاصِ

So spare me your blame, do not wear it out

My misfortunes are heavy as lead
