تَرى جيدَهُ بَينَ الغِلالَةِ وَالعِقدِ
لَهُ نَكهَةٌ أَذكى مِنَ المِسكِ وَالنَدِّ
You see his cheek amidst the soft down and pearl beads
It has a scent more fragrant than musk and ambergris
تَميلُ الأَقاحي مِنهُ نَحوَ شَقيقِهِ
فَتَحسَبُهُ ثَغراً تَقَرَّبَ مِن خَدِّ
The branches lean towards their brother
And you would think it a mouth approaching a cheek
إِذا اِقتَصَّ مِن أَشجارِهِ الغَيثُ عاتِقاً
رَأَيتُ عَلى أَغصانِها غَدرَةَ الوَردِ
When rain beats down heavily on its trees
You see rose buds on their branches
