1. تاهَت عَلى القاصِراتِ القَيصَرِيّاتِ

    رودٌ مِنَ الخَفَراتِ الكِسرَ وَيّاتِ

    The purple robes graced the Caesarean girls

    Of the guards whose spears were ready to unfurl

  2. تَبدو غَلائِلُ خَدَّيها مُوَرَّدَةً

    فيها مِنَ الظِرزِ جُمهورُ المَلاحاتِ

    Her braided locks appeared a roseate hue

    As flocks of beautiful women in them swirl

  3. كَأَنَّ طُرَّتَها مِن فَوقِ طَلعَتِها

    لَيلُ الهُمومِ عَلى صُبحِ المَسَرّاتِ

    As though above her tiara in the night

    Lay sorrow’s darkness at dawn’s joyous whirl
