وَظَبيٍ مِنَ الإِنسِ أَنفاسُهُ
عَبيرُ ثَناياهُ أَدراجُهُ
A gazelle whose breath is from humankind
The fragrance of his folds his processions
تَبوحُ القِلادَةَ مِن سِرِّهِ
بِما لا يَبوحُ بِهِ تاجُهُ
The necklace whispers from his secret
What his crown does not whisper with
إِذا الطَرفُ عاجَ عَلى خَدِّهِ
تَنَزَّهَ فيما حَوى عاجُهُ
When the glance became restless on his cheek
It showed holiness in what its ivory encased
