حيثُما سِرتَ فالمَعالي تَسيرُ

أنتَ قُرصٌ لِشَمسِها وهي نورُ

Wherever you went, glory went with you

You are the sun, and it is your light

ولكَ الخادِمان نَهيٌ وأمرٌ

ليس يُعصَى مِن خادِميه الأَميرُ

And you have two servants, prohibition and command

No one disobeys the orders of their master

إن يُقَل من فَردُ البَرايا مَزايا

فلإبراهيمَ الأكُفُّ تُشيرُ

If the excellence of individuals falls short

Ibrahim points to the palm as a sign

هو شِبلُ فَخرِ المَزاورِ مَن يَم

شونَ هوناً والصوتُ مِنهم زئيرُ

He is the cub of the proud visitors when they

Walk humbly and their voices roar

غُرَّةُ الدَّهرِ دُرَّةُ العصرِ صَقرُ ال

أطلسِ السَّيِّدُ الحَيىُّ الوَقورُ

The pearl of fate, the gem of the age, the falcon of

The noble atlas, the alive, the dignified

زانهُ المَجدُ أم به ازدانَ مَجدٌ

كم عقود تَزِينُهُنَّ نُحورُ

Did glory adorn him or is he the one who adorned glory

How many necklaces adorn his neck

يا لأَسمى أبٍ فخورٍ بأسمى اب

نٍ بأسمى ابٍ لدَيهِ فَخورُ

O, the highest father takes pride in the highest son and the highest son takes pride in the highest son next to him

He granted you victory, what a supporter he is

وظَهيرٌ وياله مِن ظَهيرٍ

قد حَباكَ المولى به المَنصُورُ

So, everyone became happy as if

It was he who came to him, that supporter

فغَدا الكُلُّ مِن سرورٍ كأنه

وهو مَن قد أتاهُ ذاكَ الظَّهيرُ

And praise of you has spread among people

Where is perfume compared to it and where is ambergris

وسَرى في الأنامِ عنكَ ثَناءٌ

أين مِسكٌ منه وأين عَبيرُ

You see nothing but a glow on the forehead

And a smile revealing its brilliance from his countenance

لا تَرى غيرَ طَلقةٍ من جَبينٍ

وابتسامٍ تَفتَرُّ عنه ثُغورُ

Faces shone with joy, glowing

Radiantly from their refulgence

أشرقت بالسُرور منهم وُجوهٌ

مُشرِقٌ مِن سَنائهنَّ السُّورُ

And a voice echoes bearing good news

While scriptures shine illuminating lines

وسرى صوتٌ هاتفٌ يَحملُ البُش

رى وصُحفٌ بها تُضيءُ سُطورُ

But the ether has gained the merit of precedence

For the ether circulated in the heavens

غيرَ أنَّ الأثيرَ قد حازَ فضلَ السَّبقِ

إذ في المَعمورِ سارَ الأثيرُ

Without beginning to glory and without

End for goodness comes aplenty

ليس ذا أوَّلي لمَجدٍ وماذا

بِأخيرٍ فالخَيرُ بعدُ كثيرُ

May God increase you in addition to this my Lord

For my Lord is capable over what He wills

فوقَ هذا يَزيدُكَ اللهُ ربِّي

فعَلى ما يَشاءُ ربِّي قَديرُ

It is, yes it is, the care of my Lord

And with it He singled him out, The All-Hearing, The All-Seeing

إنَّها إنها عِنايةُ ربِّي

وبها خَصَّهُ السَّميعُ البَصيرُ

With intelligence and an unprecedented

Feeling and perception

ذو ذَكاء وحِدَّةٍ في ذَكاءٍ

وشُعورٍ لم يدن منه شعور

You see him before the address, comprehending

What he has folded from it in conscience

فَتَراهُ قبلَ الخِطابِ أخا فَه

مٍ بما منهُ عنكَ يَطوي ضَميرُ

Then after a while redirecting the course of talk

For things have appeared to him in matters

ثُمَّ طوراً يَلوي عِنانَ حَديثٍ

إن له بانَ في الأُمورِ أُمورُ

How many trickeries he thinks have deceived him

You have failed, O deceiver

كم خَدوعٍ يَظنًّه ذا انخِداعٍ

خِبتَ سعياً يا أيها المَغرورُ

I complain of losing my rights

With him though he is well-aware of matters

غيرَ أنيِّ أشكو ضَياعَ حُقوقي

عندَهُ وهو بالأمورِ خَبيرُ

You remained a circulating sun on the horizon, a sun

Whose rays defeat darkness and illuminate

دُمتَ شمساً مالاحَ في الأفقِ شمسٌ

بِشُعاعٍ لها الخَفاءُ يُنيرُ

We ask God to increase your prominence

For He is the best lord and helper

نَطلبُ اللهَ أن تَزيدَ علاءً

فهو نِعمَ المولى ونعمَ النَّصيرُ
