يا خَيرَ من في عَصرِهِ

قد نالَ شَعبُه المُنى

O best of those in his time

His people have attained their wishes

لِلَّه لا لِغَيرِهِ

نَضرَع أَن تَبقى لَنا

For God, not for another

We plead that you remain for us

خيرُ مَليكٍ قَد وفَى

لِشَعبِهِ بما وَعَد

The best of kings who fulfilled

His promises to his people

وبهِ بَرَّ واحتَفى

ونالَ كُلَّ ما قَصَد

And in him they took pride and glory

And attained all they sought

بهِ ازدَهى وازدَهَرا

عصرُ العُلومِ والفُنون

Through him they flourished and thrived

An era of science and arts

والعِلمَ مِنهُصَيَّرا

ما لا يكونُ قد يَكون

And from him knowledge flowed

What doesn't exist may yet come to be

مُراكُشُ قد زُرتَها

فاللَّثم منها لِيَديك

Morocco you have visited

So a kiss to your hands from it

إذ بِالمُنى أحيَيتَها

فَهِىَ منكَ وإلَيك

As with good wishes you revived it

It is from you and to you

كليةُ ابنِ يوسفٍ

منها إليكَ شُكرُها

Offers its thanks to you

أَبنَتَ منها ما اختَفى

حتى تَجَلَّى سِرُّها

You unveiled what was concealed of it

Until its secret was revealed

فِذي بَنُوها ضَرَعت

لكَ بخَالِصِ الدّعا

So its students implored you

With sincere prayers

أصوَاتُها قد رُفِعَت

كَيما إليها تَسمَعا

Their voices were raised

So that you may hear them

وبالثَّناءِ شَنَّفوا

سَمعَ القَريبِ والبَعيد

And with praise they extolled

The ears of near and far

ورَدَّدوا وهَتَفوا

لِيَحىَ عصرُك السَّعيد

And they repeated and cheered

Long live your happy era
