1. Mufaḍḍal is hasty

    in judgment and in speech.

  2. He says in a minute

    what you said in a year.

  3. As though he lived in

    straits and in a crush.

  4. Yet what he says

    is stronger than delusions.

  5. It is as though his speech

    were blown upon all humankind.

  6. Do not marvel—for his body

    is pipe-music with no bridle,

  7. like an inflated waterskin

    trampled underfoot.
