كم ليلَةٍِ ولَيلةٍ

بتُّ حليفَ عِلتِي

How many nights and nights

I spend, friend of my affliction

فيَا أخِي وسَيِّي

وابنَ السَّرَاة الجِلَّةِ

My brother and provider

And son of the noble tribe

ومن محَبَّتي لَه

شَرعِي غدَت ومِلَّتِي

Out of my love for him

My law and religion became

سلِّم علَى القَائدِ مَن

كُسِي خَيرَ حُلَّةِ

Convey greetings to the leader

Adorned with the finest attire

سَلامَ شَاكٍ شاكِرٍ

واهزُز بجِذع النخلةِ

Greetings of one longing, grateful

And shake the palm tree's trunk
