1. يومٌ أناخَ ببابِ خيرِ إمامِ

    كَهَديةٍ مِن كفٍّ هذا العامِ

    A day knelt at the door of the finest imam,

    like a gift from this year’s own hand.

  2. يومٌ أُضيفَ إلى المليكِ مُحَمدٍ

    هو عندنا تاجٌ على الأيَامِ

    A day added to King Muhammad—

    to us, a crown upon all days.

  3. يومٌ تجلي حبُّنا فيه لِخَي

    رِ مُتَوَّجٍ في العالَمِ الإسلامي

    A day when our love shone forth for the best—

    —crowned sovereign in the Islamic world.

  4. فلِوَصفِهِ أرهِف لأقلامِ الثَّنا

    فَلِمثل وصفِه مُرهَفُ الأٌقلامِ

    To describe him, whet the pens of praise;

    for portraying one like him, the pens stand keen.

  5. هَشَّت رياضُ بلاغةٍ فيه فَذا

    زَهرُ البديعِ مفتَّحُ الأكمامِ

    The gardens of eloquence smiled on it—and behold,

    the flowers of rhetoric, their calyxes flung open.

  6. وتَرى شحاريرَ البيانِ تصادَحت

    وعلى الأَثير تجاوُبُ الأنغامِ

    You see the blackbirds of eloquence singing to one another,

    while over the airwaves the melodies answer each other.

  7. والشعبُ عند سماعِه مُتَرَنِّحٌ

    يَحكي ترنُّمَ أغصُنٍ وحَمامِ

    And the people, hearing it, sway in rapture,

    echoing the song of boughs and doves.

  8. عمَّ الحواضر والبوادي بهجةٌ

    فالكون روضٌ غبَّ صوبِ غَمامِ

    Joy filled the cities and the countryside;

    the universe became a garden after a raincloud’s downpour.

  9. خَلَّدتَ مجدَ جُدودِكَ الصِّيدِ الأُلى

    ساروا منَ الأيَّامِ فوقَ الهامِ

    You immortalized the glory of your lionhearted forefathers—

    those who strode above the very heads of days.

  10. ذكرى يرددها الخلودُ على مسا

    معهم مدى الأحقاب والأعوام

    A memory eternity repeats within their hear—

    —ing, throughout the ages and the years.

  11. والله جَلَّ جلالُه سَيزيدُكُم

    من فائِقِ الإحسانِ والإنعامِ

    And God—exalted is His majesty—will grant you increase

    in surpassing beneficence and bounty.

  12. ويُريكَ في الأقمارِ غاياتِ المُنى

    وهل الهُمامُ سوى سليل هُمامِ

    And show you, among the moons, the utmost of all hopes.

    Is any valiant lord but the scion of a valiant lord?

  13. ألعيدُ عيدُكَ فاهنَأَن بجَلالِهِ

    والعَرشُ عَرشُكَ يا أجَلًَّ إمامِ

    This feast is your feast; rejoice, then, in its splendor.

    The throne is your throne, O most exalted imam.
