سَألتُهم مَن الذِي

يُشبِهُ خِنزِيرا يَثِب

I asked them who resembles

A pig hopping

فِي الوجهِ والأكتَافِ وال

أطرَافِ مَع هزِّ العَقِب

In face, shoulders, and

Extremities with twitching heel

قالوا جَمِيعا إنَّ ذا

They all said: he whom

Azrael came to

أتاهُ عزرَائيلُ مِن

أسفَلِه فليَنتَحِب

From below should lament

If he hides from others

إن يحتَجِب مِن غَيرِنا

فليسَ عنا يَحتَجِب

He cannot hide from us
