1. بِرَبِّهِ في شُؤونِه ذو اعتصامٍ

    إليه رافعُ الطرفِ البَليلِ

    With his Lord as his support in all his affairs

    Is he who raises his weary eyes towards Him

  2. لذاكَ تَراهُ مصحوباً بنَصرٍ

    وتأييدٍ مِنَ المَولَى الجَليلِ

    Thus you see him accompanied by triumph

    And aid from the Most Exalted King

  3. يَتيهُ بِمَدحِكُم شِعرىَّ زَهواً

    ويَزهي العِقدُ بالجِيدِ الجَميلِ

    My poetry wanders in praising you

    And the string of pearls shines with a beautiful radiance

  4. فإنَّ شهادةَ المولَى وِسامٌ

    أصُولُ بها على أهلِ الفُضولِ

    For the testimony of the Master is a medal

    With which I take precedence over the pretentious

  5. وهل مثلُ التِّهامي من عَظيمٍ

    متى احتاجَ النهارُ إلى دَليلِ

    And who is like the ambitious with a great one

    Whenever the day needs proof

  6. فَقَد صَيَّرتَني بِمَديحِ شِعري

    أجُرُّ عليهِمُ فَضلَ الذُّيولِ

    So you have made me, with the praise of my poetry

    Bestow upon them the favor of long robes

  7. خُصوصاً حينَ يُكسِبُهُ بَهاءً

    مَديحُكَ في مَديدِه والطَّويلِ

    Especially when your praise gives it splendor

    In its extension and length

  8. وفي كلِّ القَوافي والمَعاني

    جَميعا بالإحاطَةِ والشُّمولِ

    In all rhymes and meanings

    Completely with enclosure and inclusion
